Origination Story of "The Deli" Forum

For the longer-standing members of the community, does anyone remember when "that" forum was named "The Deli"? Was it Daddy who named it, and if so, does anybody remember why he named it as such?

"The Deli" is the forum to discuss providers. You normally go to the deli to see and pick out from the array of meats and sausages. Or if you prefer a nice butt roast. 😁

It was called The Deli back when Hoo Boy ran the site.

I've always assumed this was the inspiration for "The Deli."

I believe that should be a rump roast unless the term butt roast is used in Buffalo, but it was not used when I lived there.   In any case or deli case, the reference is to the selection of meats and or meets and was an original part of the  HooBoy years.

I recall a friend in WeHo, long ago referring to an evening at the baths, “honey, I haven’t seen that much meat on display outside of Greenblatt’s”
