The beaches in Barcelona are accessible for everyone. Hence, you can't do gay stuff.

I disagree with your reasoning @newdad. Yes, the beaches are used by everyone but I’d say that means that the prevailing ethos is “Live and Let Live”

The beach in Barceloneta, close to the W Hotel, is popular with gay men, lesbians, trans people etc and nudity is unremarkable. (That does NOT mean that people have sex on the beach).

I’ve often gone there with my boyfriend (who is a younger muscleboy) and we might kiss and cuddle as part of lying in the sun together. No-one would object. The Spanish set great store by discretion and it would be seen as seriously uncool to take issue with the PDA or nudity of others.

Equally I’ve been with my boyfriend to other beaches in BCN and visited seasonal beach bars (chiringuitos) to eat and drink - there is a relaxed atmosphere and gay couples are very welcome.

thanks for sharing. Yes, that makes total sense. I found luck in Sitges personally moreso than Barcelona beaches, so my experience is biased.

I'm in Barcelona for 5 nights. I made the mistake of taking in the tourist attractions and not visiting Sauna Thermas until day 3.  Forget about the tourist sites mentioned on this thread, and make sure to visit Sauna Thermas on your first afternoon in Barcelona.

Don’t believe everything you read. What is it the kids say? YMMV, and on your own thermas.

If I chimed in with similar tripadvisor advice it would be a case of pulling everybody’s leg. In fact, I cannot claim to know everybody’s leg isn’t being pulled prior to my input at this instant. In my case, all I can be certain about is that I’d be pulling legs at the level of sentencing various gullible punters to a draw-and-quarter level of deception. Hyperbole meets hyperbolic, you say? Guilty as charged.

Fortunately, clemency and clarity are both near at hand and DM always an option for getting priorities straight and travel structure balanced. And this is coming from a truly yours inveterate sex tourist inclined to dole out dunce hats when ‘not to be missed’ funhouses overlooked by default or design. I can assure you that no such gem exists in the G’Eixample quarter and that I hope the seeing-eye-dog assignment waitlist cranks up the obviously needed speed.
