That seems like a stretch - the federal government is scanning RM for personal details in order to detain foreign visitors (with proper documentation no less) when they attempt to enter ? They have bigger fish to fry and their focus is elsewhere. So much has changed in the past few years between advances in facial recognition technology and the shifts in US politics that it’s hard to keep up with how enforcement tactics have evolved, especially when DT follows no laws. A few years ago, I read an article (which I can no longer find) discussing how DoD contractors were partnering with facial recognition companies to cross reference social media accounts with profiles on known xxx platforms. This was framed as an effort to combat xxx trafficking. At the time (pre–DT 2.0), US based providers were relatively safe operating within the US and many countries abroad, protected by citizenship and legal rights (a sentence that feels surreal to write today). Now, it’s clear that non US citizens advertising on these platforms are extremely likely to be in some form of DOH database. I have firsthand knowledge of individuals from Latin America who advertised on RM, arrived at the US border, and were turned away with 5–10 year bans. This may not be new info to many of us, but the reality is that both providers and clients are operating in an entirely new landscape. We need to act more carefully and start thinking with our heads, not our impulses. I wish RM would use the enormous revenue generated from provider and client subscriptions to enhance security, anonymity, and education around privacy and risk. But until that happens, the responsibility falls on each of us to educate and protect ourselves. I hope to live long enough where this will all be decriminalized, I feel so bad for this guy and many others. Edited January 23 by corp.exc.bttm pubic_assistance 1

There is a better chance of Bozo winning a pork chop eating contest than this guy being allowed to re-enter the USA next month. He can’t be bothered to reply to me to tell me that our meeting in NYC was canceled. I had to find out from here what happened. I had seen him several times before, in Paris and NYC. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. But he does have a history of doing this to a lot of people. pubic_assistance 1

Indeed tech and info flow now make it almost impossible to be anonymous. I went to Hong Kong last month. First time in decades. Never talked to a single human being on entry. Your face and eyes are scanned automatically. Your passport is then auto-scanned and checked that it matches all the info the airline had to submit pre-arrival. One can only imagine what other big brother checks then happen. The entry gate either opens with a green light and you are in, or a yellow light flashes and you are directed elsewhere. Crazy and sad to think the RM activity got this guy detained. pubic_assistance and corp.exc.bttm 1 1
DMICS Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM While it's not their responsibility, I think it would be nice if RM put a disclaimer on the back end, in the profile settings for providers. Just a notice about the importance of not having face photos or any other identifiers when planning U.S. travel. TorontoDrew and corp.exc.bttm 2

Many, if not most, of us wouldn't consider hiring a RM escort without a face pic. Count Bozo among them. BTC 🤡 builder boy and pubic_assistance 1 1

There are other methods like a face pic over WhatsApp. DMICS and pubic_assistance 1 1

It can be provided (and deleted after) on RM chat. RM themselves can add an expiry feature for photos shared with private chat, like Grindr and other platforms have adopted now. Or at most, just text the provider via WhatsApp and get the photo that way. Foreign RM providers coming to North America makes up only a small percentage of the overall industry.
