I do so well on rentmen. I started working a Regular job when I was 22 (late Ik) so I could have some structure/purpose and also so I could have something on paper.I had so much free time and made bad choices. I’m a different person now though.   I struggle with the idea of reporting to a boss or doing whatever it is that I don’t want to do and I know I’d make so much more money focuing on rm. I wouldn’t be a “regular” adult anymore though. Should I continue this boring path or should I go back to my old ways?

Sorry, @miserybeme9, do I have it correct that you have a regular 9-5 gig, but with RM you’re doing well enough that you’re contemplating leaving 9-5 behind for full time RM?

If so, some things to consider:
• don’t burn any bridges if/when you leave your 9-5 job
• remember, you’ll be leaving behind all sorts of benefits - healthcare, PTO, sick leave - so all that is now on you
• come up with a “cover story” about why you’re leaving - for your employer, any family/friends you don’t want to know what doing, and to explain away gaps in your CV if you find yourself returning to 9-5 - don’t overthink it, something as simple taking time to travel works
• be SMART and FRUGAL with your money - your RM income is now your sole income so spend, and invest wisely

What you’re considering can be done - I have known several providers who have, and there are some on this forum who have. Have a sit down, have a good long look at your expenses, what income you’d need to cover them, plus live as you’d like to with additional income left for savings, investments.

It’s a big decision so don’t act in haste! As others have said, do what you need to in order to live a happy, fulfilling life.

Good luck to you!

Some excellent advice.  In your “spare” time, seriously consider furthering your education- your body won’t always be young, cute, and attractive, so prepare for the eventual retirement. One well-known escort got a couple of advanced degrees in IT while he was “working” and landed some great part time gigs and then started his own lucrative company. Ya’ always need Plan “B”.

I’ve often asked my long-term escort friends what they plan on doing after escorting.  Granted, there are some older escorts out there that still probably do well, but it’s not something I’ve found out through them that they want to do forever.  I’ve even politely told them that this career does have a shelf life.  There have been guys I hired when I first started hiring great looked great back then.  I’ve seen at least one or two “come back” to the industry recently, and I think “no thank you.”  I know that may sound harsh, but this is a business in what turns you on.

I've asked similar questions and to a person they have an exit strategy. Some are mundane like being a realtor or some type of sales (hey, selling yourself as a RM is good training I'd think, many are in some sort of IT, web designer, etc. I've lost track of one who I think has made the leap who was in sort of corporate position that involved scheduling meets around zoom calls. They had a plan, were socking away the money and generally realized the someday they'd age out of the business.

Would you look back later and think "I wish i'd tried working on rm like I wanted"

or look back and say "wow, I'm glad I never tried working on rm like I wanted"

I can think of three former regulars from the 2005-2007 era who have gone on from being very popular twinks to great careers. All three earned their undergraduate degrees while escorting. One even got an MBA from a top school. There is definitely a life after escorting if you plan well and set goals, as these three did.

Completely agree.  Would also like to advance the argument that life after escorting may simply be a very comfortable retirement, not necessarily the need for another career.

All the top school MBAs I know are prestige whores.

I’ll show myself out.
