Curious about providers' reactions on this.  Short of being physically threatened or your client seeming to be a cop, what would make you turn around and walk right out of the client's hotel room?  And has that ever happened to you?

Drugs paraphernalia. If the client is drunk. Others in the room whom I had not expected to be there (I love an audience of course but I do need to know who they are).
If he’s a cop, great! I love a guy in uniform.
None of these has ever happened to me.

When I cum to London I will rent a uniform!

other one being someone underaged. I showed up once and the person was, I immediately got in my car and sped off.

I have to ask - did you card him?

He was probably 13. If you’re being facetious. So there was no need.

Not quite. Let's put it this way - when I was 22, a person who saw me on the street thought I was still in middle school, and when I bought booze, I had to show 2 IDs. And if I had known how to hire online and had the money, I definitely would have hired.

I remember when I was a much younger escort, less aware I could say no, and an overnight client and I drove around West Hollywood so he could find Tina.  We went from house to house to meet several suppliers he'd found on AOL.  Honestly, later that night I could barely tell he was on Meth.  Still, bad.

15 years ago, I was with a celebrity (minor) former client of mine at his pretty cool house in Beachwood Canyon.  We went in to his giant walk in closet (so gay) and he took some Crystal out of his safe.  I was shocked, it seemed out of character.   Haven't seen him in years, but when I looked him up, just now, I see he's sober.  Yay!

In both instances I should have walked away, but, you know, money.

That's crazy. I wonder if he just wanted to see if you would show up and were real? But it's scary too in the sense that if you had an intimate text exchange with him and had sent graphic images then you could get caught up in a bunch of legal drama. You'd be fine at the end of the day not knowing he was a minor but still.

Don’t be so sure.

They may not be able to convict, but they can sure destroy your life trying.

Especially in the current American social climate, where all gay men are suddenly "groomers."
