I plan to visit Espaco Lagoa and Fregata 555. What is the current compensation for encounters there?

Lagoa has rates from R$100 all the way to R$300 depending on how you negotiate with the garoto and the popularity of the garoto.

Lagoa is located in a tightly fit building with several floors and lots of stairs (no elevator).

Because the remodeling of the building, when it was converted to a sauna, did not include acoustic ceilings, conversational noise from people talking in the visiting rooms is rather distracting.  Usually, while sitting at a table trying to have a conversation, it is necessary to shout or talk very loud to those you wish to communicate with.

Other than the annoying stairs and lack of acoustic ceilings, the place is fun and often has some gorgeous and friendly garotos.

Fragata, on the other hand, has lower rates for garotos although you will not find many garotos available.

I was there a few weeks ago and found the facility attractive but the employees at check in and within the facility were not at all friendly.  The  place had about ten clients or maybe less and about five garotos that I could tell.  It is possible there were garotos in the rooms that I did not see.

The facility is in a very nice neighborhood.  Although the neighborhood is mostly commercial, Fragata is located in an unusually attractive area of Sao Paulo.

I went there only once.  I did not find any garoto that I found interesting to me.  I left the place after about two hours.

On my next trip to Brazil, I have no plans to visit Fragata.

there's periodic comment over at gayguides (formerly boytoy and, before that, something else less embarrassing) that foreigners ruin it for the local clients because the foreigners are willing to pay more....conversely, it can be argued that foreigners should be able to seriously haggle because the rate locals pay is very low......just a thought......

but with a US dollar now able to buy 5.25 reals (it was even embarrassingly better a few months ago), I don't think foreign clients should worry too much about whether 150/200/250 reals is a ripoff/deal/problem/average ......you really want to quibble with a hard-working dude over $10??.....talk about ugly American.......hell, the next-to-the-last time I was in RJ (2016), there was a local kid roaming Copa Beach near us trying to steal stuff....he was chased away and was back in minutes.......was probably hungry and very desperate

I visited Lagoa yesterday around 5 PM. Although I was exhausted from traveling, I wanted to check it out.

There is blue decoration outside but no sign. I man at the door confirmed when I asked, “Lagoa.” The entrance fee is R65. Inside the facility almost no one wore masks. There were many garotos of varying types. I identified a couple appealing ones. I asked a guy the price. He initially suggested 800, and 700. I said it was much. I finally offered 200. He agreed. I rented a cabin on the third floor for R55. I was given 4 condoms. The space was attractive with a a comfortable bed. I was pleased that there was a private toilet and shower in the room. My garoto locked the door inside when we entered. We had a satisfying encounter. The key broke when unlocking to depart. He knocked on the door to summon staff to unlock from outside. Before they arrived, he used his locker key to pick the lock to open the door.

There were many garotos around the building displaying their assets. Likely one can find one who is willing and able to satisfy desires for an agreed price. I was too tired to stay for the show.

The neighborhood is residential. Large residences are surrounded by gate. Many people were walking their dogs.

The $R65 entrance fee you paid is charged only because it was a Friday night.

The entrance fees vary beginning from R$40, depending on the day of the week.

The garoto who asked for $R800 and $R700 did that because he is greedy but mainly because he could tell you are not a Brazilian.  The guys are there to make money.  If he thought you did not know the ordinary rates, he would have taken advantage of you had you gone along with his excessive asking price.

If you get bored with Lagoa, you might want to take an Uber to the other sauna in Sao Paulo (usually referred to as Fragata but its current name is -http://www.clube555.com.br/

I was there only once.  It is an attractive sauna.  I do not know the garoto rates because I did not engage anyone there.  The place was not busy when I was there.

I went to Clube555 yesterday. I wanted to see the neighborhood so I walked there on São João from Centro. I walked around 3 in the afternoon because I thought that I could relatively safely walk at that time of day. The neighborhood on São João is sketchy. There were many homeless people in tents. Walking there after dark could be dangerous.

Rua Tripu is a block or so from the Mal Deodora metro. Rua Tripu is actually in an upscale neighborhood. I felt comfortable there.

I arrived at Clube555 around 3:30. I was exhausted from walking a lot so I was content to rest there for a while.

The space is actually beautifully designed. The lockers for clients are on the ground floor. There is a bar on the ground floor that was closed.

The first floor has cabins for rent. Private showers and toilets are attached.

The basement has lockers for garotos and a large restaurant with large windows. There is a stage.

A few clients were there. Some were socializing with each other while eating and drinking in the restaurant.

A few garotos arrived later in the afternoon. I engaged Marcello. My understanding and speaking Português is so poor that we could not work out a price through verbal communication. He finally wrote R150 on a piece of paper. I agreed. Perhaps I have misunderstood other communications because of my limited understanding of the language.

I was exhausted so I left after 5 pm or so.  More garotos arrived then.

Garotos at Lagoa were 18 to 35 and slim or athletic. Some garotos at Clube555 were striking different, markedly obese and much older. Different strokes for different folks.

Apparently clients and garotos go to Clube555 later in the day.

I then walked from Clube555 to Consolacao. Higienópolis is an upscale neighborhood. There were several medical and veterinary offices. People were walking dogs. The streets are confusing. Although I imagine that I have a good sense of direction, I needed to check a map many times to go to Consolacao. Since this is an upscale neighborhood, I felt that I could safely take out a map without assault.

It seems you are enjoying Sao Paulo.

Considering you ventured to the less popular sauna, Clube555, you also might want to venture to a different area of Sao Paulo that is safe during the day but without saunas - Centro.

I recommend a "cine" on Rua Aurora near the corner of Av. Vieira de Carvalho.  This location is less than two blocks from Praca da Republica where you can often find hustlers.  However, be careful of meeting guys in the Praca because of the inherent danger and because of your lack of Portuguese.

I do not recall the name of the cine but it is the only cine there.  The cine is a couple of hundred feet (or less) from the intersection of Vieira de Carvalho on Rua Aurora.  The cine is in the direction going away from Vieira de Carvalho on the left side of Aurora.  It is hard to miss as it is the only cine business there and it has a long curtain blocking the street view into the cine.  The curtain often blows into the sidewalk as you pass by.

The entrance fee is minimal.  There are usually a lot of garotos (hustlers) available in the cine.   You can opt to do something with the garoto in the cine (in a booth) or you can agree to go to a nearby one-hour hotel for getting together.

These garotos charge R$30 - R$40 reais in the cine or R$100 to R$150 in a nearby hotel.  There are many nearby hourly hotels near the cine.  Hotel London is but one hourly hotel I can think of, but there are many.   Google shows the address of Hotel London.

The cine and nearby hotels are cheap and seemingly clean.

The hotels run around R$20 to R$25 per hour unless you engage the room for at least a half day.

The above places (Cine and Praca) are worthwhile to check out to see if there are garotos you might like to entertain.

To help you find the cine, below is a photo of the intersection near the cine.  As you can see from the photo, both streets are identified.  Just walk down Rua Aurora past the parking entrance until you come to the door with the long hanging curtain that often blows out onto the street.

Here is the photo that should guide you to the cine:

A related question.. I found this guy on one of the website:

https://garotocomlocal.com.br/acompanhante-masculino/roberto-bertolucci/

Seem a very hot muscle god, asking for 700 RL for one hour. Seems high for me consider other people charge 200... reasonable price for north America standard tho.

What is your experience in hiring muscle gods like this? how much do they charge usually? in & out of sauna?

Your sharing will be much appreciated :)

Guys you hire out of the sauna normally charge more than when in the sauna.  Most have their own place where you go to them but they will go to you also, for an extra fee.

Remember, if you meet a guy in the sauna, you must pay an entrance fee then pay for a room.  Going to the facility of an advertising guy might equal the money playing field a bit.

Since the guy you showed in your post is into massages, here is a garoto I know who also is into massages.

The above website has dozens of available guys.  I have met a few.

EDIT:  That website (vivalocal.com) does not let you copy the web address for a particular garoto.  Here is his ad, and notice his rate is no where near the rate of the guy you posted -

If you go to the website I showed above for the guy who gives massages, you will be able to see many other garotos available.

Most show their prices.

I do not think there is even one listing a price like the one who quoted you.

The masseur Roger listed by @coriolis888 is very much to my taste, more so than Roberto Bertolucci mentioned above and quoted below.

But I don’t understand your approach @cotedeazur You describe him as “a very hot muscle god”. So if you want to have a passionate session with full sex, why fixate on his higher rate? BRL 700 is hardly expensive, especially if he’s coming to you - does $148 truly matter on a vacation in Brazil?

snip snip -  I think I have seen his ad several times throughout the pandemic, but he may have been on hiatus for that very good reason yet kept up his listing. Otherwise, I might be more inclined to raise my eyebrows.

I saw the above shown guy called "Roger" last January.  Roger is his working name.

Although his photos are about one year old, he looks just like his photos.

I totally understand why you would not want to hire solely from an ad.  Photos can be misleading and could be of someone other than the person placing the ad.

I was initially reluctant to hire Roger because, like you, I do not like hiring from an ad.

Rather than my going to his place, we made a deal to meet in the central park and I agreed to offer him some money if I decided or if he decided that we would not be a match for each other.

Happily, all worked out splendidly.
