jeezifonly Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 My finale takeaways 1. George Russell sure heals fast. 2. Oscar’s haircut distracts in every shot that isn’t him in bed. 3. Why can’t we have seen just one brief happy sex scene with Duke and Gladys? 4. Bodices for the ladies who sit need to be fit with them seated. 5. I can’t wait to see Carrie Coon return to playing contemporary characters. + SirBillybob, CuriousByNature and Rod Hagen 3

Whereas at the seat of Sidmouth, “fit” is slang that refers to how hot Duke’s little social-climbing sibline-splintering Gladiolus is when sitting, standing, or hectoring splayed. Refer to #3. Ali Gator Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 Season 3 finale drew over 5 million viewers in its first three days.

How Larry suggested to Jack he might find a male companion at The Haymarket, as well as how Oscar was bequeathed John Adam's cottage and how he seems headed for a marriage with a beard all seems significant. That said, I am glad to find I'm not the only one that finds Jack delightful. Perhaps Oscar will get a taste. thomas 1

Jack was the very first character on screen in The Gilded Age. I wonder if Julian Fellows did that for a certain reason. He's led a sheltered life, is well liked, and talented. I fear Bridgett may be slightly high maintenance, for him to deal with. I hope she does right by him. Rod Hagen 1
+ SirBillybob Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 (edited) Now that he’s no longer a foot man, Jack would naturally be exploring what else he likes and should take his time. Bridget has an unfortunate traumatic past and brushed his hand away on a date, so he may get excited prematurely with her now, in relative terms, thawing out and throwing herself at him, finding himself in a stew. Or in hot water, the type of resource that Bridget previously expressed resentment about in terms of sharing with a newly arrived Peggy on the scene. Edited August 16, 2025 by SirBillybob TonyDown 1
Becket Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 HBO should just change its name to "The Gilded Age Channel." For the last two weeks it seems they have shown this show every day of the week, 24/7. Rod Hagen and + poolboy48220 1 1

I never get tired of watching Marian leap on the dining room table to help wounded George. I keep thinking of decades ago when anytime you turned on the USA channel you had a good chance of catching a "Wings" rerun. thomas and Becket 2

TonyDown Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) More TGA trivia. There is an interesting Christine Baranski (Agnes Van Rhijn in The Gilded Age) video on the HBO TGA Fan Page on Facebook. Baranski's late husband had a direct line back to the Gilded Age Drexel family. A portrait of Elizabeth Drexel hangs in The Elms, in Newport. Also, I was watching "The Firm" (1993) last night and wondered what else Jeanne Tripplehorn has performed in. Turns out that is her, playing Sylvia Chamberlin in TGA. From TGA Wiki Websites, I found that character is based on Arabella Huntington, who has quite a story One might expect Julian Fellows to pick up on that in S4. Long story short, The Huntington in San Marino, CA was founded by Harry E. and Arabella Huntington. I recently referenced The Huntington on the Museum thread. Also, for those in the OC, Huntington Beach is named after Harry E. There is much more to their history. Edited August 24, 2025 by TonyDown thomas 1
TonyDown Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago HBO is running their trailer of Season 4 of The Gilded Age. Larry Russell and Jack Trotter have one brief clip together. Fans like me that find both characters are such sweet and handsome men might be pleased HBO threw us a bone in the video, below. I hope Season 4 is generous with these two appearing in scenes together. Will their relationship grow? I understand Jack earned around $20,000,000 in today's currency for selling his patent. Will Larry protect Jack from cunning interlopers that covet his wealth? In the meantime, I'd love to find some juicy fanfiction featuring Larry and Jack. 😍

nomad Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The show has gotten better with each season. I felt the quality toward the end of Downton Abbey dropped a bit the last couple of seasons as it raced to put a nice bow on all the various storylines.
jeezifonly Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago If George is permanently out of the picture, I'm done.
