What about the west side ymca on w63rd?

can confirm the westside y still has steam and sauna, and has lots of action going on. the crowd trends towards older, but younger guys also cruise and play.

Are there sti any crunch gyms with wet and dry saunas?

i think most of the crunch gyms in nyc have closed their steam rooms. lots still have dry saunas (although i haven't been to some in a while, so others will need to confirm): w83, e59, w38, e34, union square, tribeca, fidi.

Some things never change I guess. Glad to hear that the old NYSC at 94 is still feral. I wonder if that’s the reason that location is still standing. It might be time to pay a visit after years of not working out there.

i miss nysc on 94th street, so many hot guys playing all the time!!! 😈🍆💦

Btw the NYSC on 80th street is no more. It closed on March 5. Has anyone tried the sauna at the NYSC on 73rd and CPW?

I’m there pretty often and it’s variable. Can be very cruisy sometimes. Other times quiet. No towels currently but supposedly they’ll be back next week.

I concur about the Westside YMCA. I've been there a few times recently. The steam room and open showers have a cruisy vibe. Lately, a younger, more diverse crowd seems to have discovered the place. It's worth checking out. Its $30 a day pass.

The hygiene of people at west side Y can be so gross. I found a giant turd in one of the shower drain once. Another time I saw a guy using a towel that had a lot of skid marks on it. So grossed out.

it’s a no for me sorry

Any actions at Life Time gyms? How is it compared to Equinox?

Been a member at Life Time for almost two years and have never witnessed any steam or sauna action though since I’m on the free plan through my Medicare, I’m only there between 9.30 and 3.30.  Maybe some early or late cruising?

agreed on the variation of cruisy times. If they don't get towels, i'm not even gonna try to cover my boner. lol Letting it all hang out.

The gym scene in NYC is very strange since Covid. Covid is still with us. Some people still wear masks when close to other people. Some people are still catching it, but hopefully not dying. Low-pay help is still very hard to find. A lot gyms can't afford to hire anyone to clean the machines on a regular basis, and some users don't comply with the cleaning rules, which now fall on the members. Risky business, even today.

I just cancelled my Life Time membership after years of not using it and rate increases, but I remember the steam rooms being fairly active pre-Covid.

Which locations were your experiences?

Has anyone tried Spa Club in Koreatown?

Spa club sucks, totally not worth the money IMO. Very small. In the men’s nude area, there’s just one sad little hot tub in a scorchingly bright room, and a steam room that only sometimes works.

the area is monitored by nasty attendants with scowls who bark at you if you drip even one drop of water in the locker area.

just my two cents, not fun or relaxing and not worth it.
