This was a real side hustle?! OMG! How does one get this gig?

I became friends with the owner after being a regular, very reliable client of his agency. The boys I had hired gave him “good reviews” about me, and one day he came with the proposal. It was a fantastic gig, @JoeMendoza, fantastic. I tested lots of boys for relatively little money. Many of them were new to the trade, vey young and fresh, eager to please. Oh, the memories!

At one a month, one would top 60 in 5 years. Even at one every two months, one would top 60 in 10 years. I would have thought that in a site such as this one, a majority would be more enthusiastic hirers.

it's probably not just enthusiasm that drives the numbers...there is probably also capacity - both in disposable income and time.

For the past five years, I’ve seen my harem of regulars multiple times. Some of the newbies have been pleasant, but failed the “spark” test. When trying to recount single providers I’ve seen since 2001, I lost count at 120 or so, with only a handful being sub par or sketchy. My current regulars have the uncanny ability to read my mind and intuit next steps during our rituals. I love them.

That assumes that every hire would be a new provider. Many, if not most frequent hirers would have regulars. I'm more likely to hire my recent providers again rather than look for others. (I've been having a text conversation with one of them about our respective vaccination journeys, encouraging each other. He'll have my legs in the air as soon as the state borders are open!)

True. Many people just have regulars that they see as often as possible. I still count those as "dates" as it's a matter of whether the client prefers a constant variety or a few.

Income used to have a lot less to do with it. I hired in undergraduate school when (in that town) $20 was passable and remember when I moved back to DC in 1975 being shocked when asking prices hit $50, where they stayed for a very long time. (it was always "ask 50, get 40" lol). That early early 70s escalation from 20 to ask 50 was the real price hike. (With inflation $50 in 1975 should be $250 now). Back then when you came back with a finished date to Naples bar or the Trailways park there would always be others wanting you to try them out. There were other pickup bars and spots in town but that was the main one. (Washingtonian magazine named Naples "Nastiest Bar in Town"- I thought it was fine- it even had the Terminal Hotel upstairs where people lived and the bartender let people in). Next door was Dollies drag bar drunk Marines "got lost" in- I'm not sure who paid whom there.

Also you're aware that in Columbia and Brazil $20 still works and $50 is high and regular clients at the saunas often sample more than one per visit and some visit frequently. 2 dates per week at those rates (100 per year) doesn't require much American income.

Ironically, sex is the one area where the internet has not lowered prices but has caused them to rapidly shoot up.  The current scarcity because of the lockdown lifting is flirting with $400 which is way past the inflation-adjusted 1975  sudden escalation. I think the internet has caused semi-famous providers to become celebrities.

Not everyone in Brazil here cared much what the prices are in Brazil. I go to Rio for the beaches and the music I hire in Berlin and Sydney

I am more of a repeat customer hirer. Though I have had somewhere between 50 and 60 different hires. That amounts to hundreds of total hires.  Rare for me to be a one and done guy

You must write a book and share it with us. Illustrated, of course.

Well I wasn't originally going to participate in the threat but what the hell:

I was 61 1/2 when I hired my first escort

I have been hiring for 19 1/2 years

I have hired between 201 and 300 different escorts

Nowadays I am prone to stick with a couple regulars, that definitely wasn't the case when I first started hiring.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  I traveled all over the country hiring guys in San Francisco, Vancouver, Austin, New Orleans, Tampa and New York City to name just a few places.  On several occasions I hired guys in London while vacationing there a couple of times a year.

I'll be 81 on the 24th of next month and am still actively hiring.  Hot damn life has been and still is fun, Fun, FUN.

Quality is more important  than quantity, Especially in the English speaking world. Wish I had spent more time in Mexico and Sweden, and especially Russia and Hong Kong
