Gym Solicitation

Curious if any providers here have been solicited at the gym. What are some of the lines you’ve heard from guys? What are the lines that have worked?

I'm not a provider, but I'm confused by your inquiry since I assume that anyone who is already a provider would much prefer to be approached via the methods listed in their ads (text, email, call) than someone approaching them in a public setting.  If what you are hoping to accomplish is to interact with them in person at the gym to decide if you want to hire them, I think a text makes sense.  You can write something basic like, "I've seen your rentmen ad and notice you're at the gym right now.  I'm the guy in the red shorts and white tank top on a treadmill.  If you can spare the time, come chat with me about a scheduling a meeting."  If the guy doesn't want to chat about his business in the gym, he can either ignore you or reply by text telling you that you can call him later if you want.

If you're talking about just approaching a random hot guy at the gym and using a "line" to solicit him, good luck with that.  I'm sure some guys do that and maybe some forum members can chime in if they've successfully done this.  Any provider answering, however, isn't likely to help you with approaching someone who isn't a provider since someone already working as an escort might be annoyed to be interrupted, but he's not going to react negatively to being perceived as an escort.  A random hot guy might take offense at the suggestion that he's willing to provide companionship for money.  I've even had masseurs who got a bit offended when I asked if they were available for something more than erotic massage for a higher rate.

I go to the gym to workout and relax. I really don’t want to be discussing business there. If my Scruff app is active I guess a potential client could see me and contact me via that but I don’t check it very often so it could be weeks later I see his message: “I’m on the bench, come and spot for me!” and it’s rather too late then isn’t it?

When I’m working out I’m not giving off vibes that say come and have a chat about a session. I just go there, do my workout and then leave. All that standing around chatting I see some guys doing is a waste of time. 

I have seen a lot of flirting going on though. And then a few times I see them in the steam room getting to know each other better lol. I guess those chat up lines about supplements, routines and “can I feel your biceps” are effective. Doesn’t work with me though! I’m oblivious to people coming on to me unless they’re blatantly waving their cock in my face. So I guess if you see me in the gym and do want to approach me you’ll have to get your cock out and that might offend some of the clientele.

Most people wouldn't, but if you hire escorts and/or peruse sites like Rentmen to look at escort ads then you might recognize someone in the gym as the guy who has an escort ad online.  That's obviously why some men choose to not have their faces in their ads (or at least have it only visible for those who have access to their "private" photos). 

After I posted my other reply, I noticed the other recent thread about how/whether to acknowledge an escort you've hired when you see him out in public somewhere.  The majority opinion seems to be that people value privacy above all else and consider it improper for a client to approach or greet an escort in public and vice-versa.  Given that it seems like most would view it as a faux pas to approach someone in public for the purpose of soliciting him.

One of the personal trainers at my gym knows what I do (I’ve also been to a couple of sex parties with him…off the clock) but he’s never discussed anything with me while I’m there working out and I’ve never interrupted him whilst he’s with his clients there. We’ve had a coffee in the bar area a few times though. I appreciate his discretion and he appreciates mine. That’s what makes me comfortable with him knowing my work. 

I’m fairly sure some of the gym goers are aware of what I do, there’s links to my website from my hookup apps etc but no one has ever approached me there in person about a booking thankfully. I’d feel uncomfortable discussing it at the gym.

Yes Lucky that was the intent of my post - approaching someone that I find hot without knowing whether they’re a provider or not. I guess I probably should’ve posted this in a different forum but I figured providers might have some insight on being solicited at the gym and could share some of the lines that work.

If recognized from RM I'm sure some providers get asked in person about many things.

Are you suggesting hitting or offering $ for sex? It would take some guts to solicit someone in a public space.

Never happened in a gym but this made me think of a time I was walking in Chelsea and some middle aged middle eastern man pulled alongside me in his old beaten up car. He rolled down his window and asked me, “How much?” I didn’t know if he was a cop or what (I’m sure he wasn’t probably just some dirty horny man) but I got nervous and just kept walking. A lot of random people have stopped me asking if I’m a model, but as far as I can remember, that was the only time anyone has ever solicited me in public.

I've never been offered money in such a random way, but a few times I did have men pull their cars over and invite me to get in.  Uh, no thanks.  I know that some people would take that risk in the chance the payoff will be great, but my first thought has always been that I certainly am not getting into a motor vehicle with someone with whom I've had no previous interaction.

Equinox NYC,  speficially the Greenwich avenue location in the West Village, which pre covid was perhaps the gayest one. I've seen cockyboys models work out there, and naked in the changing area. I look forward to the steam room the most. No play tho - its not that kind of gym

I'd say that the Hudson Yards Equinox is the most overtly gay, as it's the newest, largest and has a pool.

I've had guys 30 to 70+ hit me up for a chat at gyms. It is usually a compliment in passing. 

Because I focus when I'm in the gym, I don't talk until the end of my workout. I also flex and pose in locker room and not on the gym floor. So, less guys chat with me.

Some guys recognize me from being a personal trainer, bodybuilder competitor, or former stripper in clubs.
