Your lede is mis-lede-ing.

< hot straight guy ass is an accurate portrayal of the video. "Fucking hot straight guy ass" is not part of the video. x(

>Wonder if that was a porno or just some guy fucking.

Like mobydick said below, I think he's a pro-mateur.

>In either case, would love to have mounted his ass as he fucked her.

I don't know if he'd let you, but it sure looks edible. :9

Well, grammatically, the only correct way to read the title is with "fucking" as an adverb, which was my intent. And genuine straight guys don't get fucked, anyway. :p

"fucking hot straight guy ass"

Hummm... Well, fucking may be read as one of a pair of adjective phrases "fucking hot" and "straight guy" with both modifying "ass." It is also entirely plausible to understand "fucking" as a verb which would grammatically position the "straight guy" as a bottom. The one thing it does not seem grammatically possible to do is read "fucking" as an adverb, because it is the only word in the phrase that could function as the verb.

No, it's an adverb; it modifies "hot," just as if I'd said "very hot" instead of "fucking hot." But speaking of "hot," that's not a word I'd use to describe this conversation! :p

The only problem with your analysis concerns the fact that Rick's description as posted is indeed only a phrase... and that phrase could more aptly be described as simply a title for the thread... or in other words or another way to phrase it would be that what was posted was merely "a series of words" or "heading" that would have no relation to being a complete sentence or for that matter a gramatically complete fragment or a sentence.

That's my take on things... However, I am somewhat biased since my favorite use of the F word is as most definitely when utilized as an adverb... Plus that was the author's intent!!!

...and PS and adverb can modify not only a verb, but another adverb... and yes an adjective as well!

Right, "hot" is an adjective, and adverbs modify adjectives, verbs or other adverbs. I thought we all learned this in 3rd grade. :p

1. The part of speech that modifies a verb, adjective, or other adverb.

2. Any of the words belonging to this part of speech, such as so, very, and rapidly.

I like your take on it, and yes, that was my intent. If I had seen your post first, I wouldn't have bothered with mine above. And I agree that "fucking" is my favorite adverb, too. It's also my third favorite verb, after sucking and kissing. :9

Wow Rick and Whipped, thanks for the insult and ridicule! Love your comment about 3rd grade…real classy. What happened to your vow to turn the leaf and be a nice guy on the board, Rick? Guess you’re over that phase?

I used the word "phrase" deliberately—missing subject and (depending on how one reads it) verb as well, this phrase only takes on meaning when the reader imposes some kind of grammatical structure upon it. It’s obvious that Rick is quite simply wrong when he says that “the ONLY CORRECT [how pompous is that!] way to read the title is with ‘fucking’ as an adverb.” It’s very possible to read, as ncm does, by supplying the implied subject, as in “He’s…fucking hot straight guy ass.” “Fucking” functions here as VERB, not adverb.

If, as you propose, “fucking” is functioning as an adverb, then the phrase lacks not only a subject, but verb as well. That’s a pretty unstable structure. I suppose one could argue that the implied construction is something like “He has a fucking hot straight guy ass” and that “fucking” is here functioning as adverb, but it seems more like an adjective to me.

For two guys so busy staking out the intellectual high-ground here, I might suggest that you Google “intentional fallacy.” Whatever it is that Rick INTENDED to say or imply doesn’t really matter. Meaning only takes place in the act of communication between author and reader—and that’s an insight from the EARLY 20th century.

But hey—I’m open to learning here. I recognize that adverbs can modify adjectives and other adverbs as well. But can someone please explain to me how it is possible to have an adverb in a phrase that doesn’t possess ANY verb? Please educate me. I’m all “ears.”

LOL Tom, you play the victim card more often than a certain candidate plays the POW card. :p

>Rick?

I have no idea what you're talking about. I've never made such a vow, and I've never needed to "turn over a new leaf" anyway. In case my posting signature isn't clear enough, I am the resident "Smart Ass" and have been since I started posting here about 8 or 9 years ago. And it's particularly fun to be a smart ass to self-righteous thin-skinned blowhards. :+

(btw, Derek wants me to write this for him: "Dude, grow a fucking set." And yes, "fucking" is an adjective there. :p )

Shoot!!! To think that if Rick had simply titled the thread

"Really hot straight guy ass"

we probably would not have had this silly detour about third grade grammar... but then again some of us have never grown up... :p and others have not learned how not to take things too seriously... :+

You'll just have to forgive me, Whipped, for "taking things too seriously." But after being ridiculed and told that I need to revisit 3rd grade grammar, I'm not inclined to take your further insult too seriously. I've actually forwarded the phrase to a friend of mine, a language expert William Saffire used to consult. I'll stick to the issue at hand and let you know what I hear from him.

While I think it's obvious that the word "fucking" does NOT function (and I'd go so far as to say CAN NOT function) as an adverb in the given context, I'm willing to entertain the notion a little further. I am curious. But please, Rick and Whipped, if you're so fucking smart, enlighten me. Rather than insult and call me names and tell me that I take things too seriously, how about a little substance along with your put-downs? You've claimed the expertise, demonstrate for us.

Oh, and by the way, am I addressing one or two persons? In other words, Whipped, are you a real person, or just another one of the multiple personae that Rick has created to flatter himself and second his opinions and laugh at his otherwise not very funny jokes?

Posted

Tom... I thought that my last posting would have ended things.

However, just one more final thought... both my postings as well as those by Rick had a at the very least a modicum of humor associated with them... and the use of clowns and smiley faces were used to reinforce that fact. The humor might have been a bit sarcastic in nature... and possibly not appreciated, but it was still intended for a laugh and not to ridicule… Plus, some of it was even a bit self-deprecating. However, I unfortunately sense a seriousness of purpose in your postings that does not quite jive with the admittedly silly topic at hand. Accordingly, do consider the forum where we are posting… So please…

Fucking Lighten Up!!

...and do feel free to analyze the use of the F word in that phrase as well if you must… Just for the record it was intended to be used as an adverb… :+

RE: Straight guy ass, fucking hot!

As much as I love a scratch'n-snort grammar lesson from bitch-queens, the truth is, the title phrase of Rick's thread is poorly written. Nobody needs a Safire consult for this silly word play. Rick wrote an awkward phrase because the subject appears at the end and "fucking" can be a verb, adjective, and adverb. Without more information, the reader has to guess at author intent. Bad writing is bad writing and Rick doesn't claim to be a writer. He's a "smart ass" escort.

I, too, went to x-tube looking for a hot straight guy getting his ass torn up. When I discovered jiggling pussy, I kept waiting for the woman to strap on a strap-on and jiggle from the top. It didn't occur to me until after the video was over that Rick was drooling over the guy's profile (of his ass).

Frankly, I need hole. I don't care if the ass is straight or gay. Bulbous man asses make it hard to reach hole. (You figure out what I mean.)

ps No, I'm not returning to this board as long as deej moderates (or apologizes). But I recently discovered Daddy did not cancel my username, as instructed, and I couldn't resist playing with two old friends.

Well, I have definitely learned my lesson and I will only use "really" instead of "fucking" from now on. For example, tonight, I can't wait for Derek to be "really" me hard. :p
