Some movement at the station (that's an Australian literary reference - see The Man From Snowy River), at last. PM Ardern has announced she's going to make an announcement. She said today that date on which quarantine-free travel from Australia to New Zealand will start again will be made public on 6 April. Also from today Australians do not need to apply for an exemption to the international travel ban to go to New Zealand, so if we want to go and face the two weeks' quarantine we can. Talk of unrestricted travel between Australia and Singapore is also gaining traction. Small steps compared to the relative freedom many other countries have, but significant for us.

So, potentially some movement on travel six months before summer. (I know, not summer as most readers here interpret it.)

That’s what I’ve heard. Not a fan of crowds of British drunks.

Yes spent 2 weeks in the northern part which wasn't enough time and 1 week in the south which was enough (or even too much!) There are definitely things worth seeing in the south but just so much more history in the northern part. Well worth going to visit IMHO And the port is worth tasting:)

Since you mentioned The Man from Snowy River... I remember watching that movie 6 or 7 times for some very obvious reasons...snowyriver_0631.jpg

I only need the UK to lift the mandatory 14 day quarantine and I am off to London at the end of August. Flight and lodging are already booked. Everything else will be on a "how I feel" basis. Museum visits are likely; theatre is currently not. Will probably stick to outdoor dining or cooking in the flat.

Iceland is open to all vaccinated starting March 16 (that's tomorrow). No further testing and no quarantine if you have proof of vaccination.

I assume this was a typo as tomorrow (now today) is 26 March, which is when the change comes into effect. The date is listed towards the end of this Icelandic Government news item.

He's on my IG (I met him at Johnsons) and today posted a pic saying he was very happy. The pic said Miami. He has a RentMen under ApolloXXX but it says he's not available now. LINK There'a a few threads on him on some fan sites, one with him being massaged by a guy, another with him topping a guy, and another with him sucking a guy. Nothing else really. Be aware he's 6'6 with thighs like tree trunks and Basque.

His IG is filou_fitt . I don't mind sharing since he has 75,000 followers there and every post seems to get 5000 likes. It also lists his OnlyFans

Just found a great business class fare on Air Canada from SEA to LIS via Toronto in September. Oddly, Portugal is one of the few Europeans countries that I haven’t visited. Thinking of spending a month there. Any suggestions?

Lisbon is an incredible city ... food, art, cultural activities ... go out to Sintra to see the castle st. george ... avoid the famous yellow trolley, as these days it's most famous for pickpockets working the tourists! Its not as big an escort town as some ... check out B3ar Bar for the friendliest staff in town

On that note, Delta just announced additional service from Boston to Iceland for this summer. Seems that Iceland will be a busy place given that it will be wide open to vaccinated Americans.

There was a time, once we knew travel really wasn’t an option last year, that I began thinking “Well, this will all be sorted, and we’ll be back to normal by next summer”. Alas, looks like that was a pipe dream. But, I did get a notice from BA regarding sale prices last week. Once I confirmed any purchase could be cancelled, and used by 4/2022, I booked a ticket for late August into September.

R/T NYC-LON First Class on BA for $3200 is a steal!

I haven’t seen any of my family or friends in the UK now since summer of 2019. I had been planning to be back for Easter 2020, but we know how that worked out.

I’m usually quite content with my own company, but these last 12+ months have been trying. Last time I saw any member of my family in the US or overseas was January 2020. I will say we’re all in much more frequent contact these days with calls, texts, FaceTime, Zoom, even writing letters - but it’s not the same. I do have a group of friends I am close with here, and while we do a daily “check-in”, I do miss being with them. I have been socialising with a smaller group of friends for the last 6 or so months now. But again, with the restrictions, and things still shut down, it’s not the same. I really get angry when I think of what COVID has robbed us all of - that which is most precious, time.

Anywho, if things go tits-up with the London sojourn, I’m still scheduled to be in Moscow for work in late November. I’ve only been a handful of times, and never really hired off RM - one gent who was based in Moscow I had met previously in Dubai, and another was a regular from London - but looking at RM, no one is striking my fancy.

Ugh!

I think I’m just in the middle of a COVID malaise these days, which will hopefully pass once I get the second jab next week.

I anticipate my summer 2021 excursions to find me going no further afield than the beaches of the Northeast. How I’d love to make up for last summer with a few trips overseas, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to be feasible. I cannot wait for these restrictions to end, to return to some normalcy, and to host a mask burning party to which all are invited!

I got a first class ticket on Virgin Atlantic (via Delta) (JFK-LON) for $2470 for my birthday trip at the end of August back in late January. It had been $3500 for a few weeks so I when I saw it drop, I jumped on it. Delta is offering free changes through early 2022. As I've said previously, as long as I don't have to quarantine, I'm going.

Wow! That is a great fare! ??

I’m of the same mind, as long as there is no quarantine requirement, (which would probably mean there’s more happening), then I’ll be heading over ??
