I usually look through the news on the coverboy page, sometimes there are interesting gay-rights issues I hadn't heard of, sometimes links to something amusing. Today there was a link, "‘UK Beef Bangers’ Goes to the Top of JRL" it's just an advertising via press release kind of thing, but I followed the link to see if there was a steamy preview and was a little surprised it was a barebacking company...

 

I'm not sure how I feel about barebacking porn, I'm not sure I even find it 'hotter', but companies that use couples or maybe that do the best testing I don't really mind... this one (at a glance) would appear to be operating on the up and up, but I've also started to notice a lot of porn online made cheaply in eastern europe with barebacking, and that seems like deadly exploitation to me.

 

Then there's the separate issue of the message it sends, I don't care much about that but I know some here do.

SAN FRANCISCO — Treasure Island Media (TIM) founder Paul Morris has announced that TIM exclusive director Max Sohl's international title “UK Beef Bangers” has topped the U.S. gay DVD charts, according to JRL Publications, for the week ending July 18.

The European Gay Porn Directory announced “UK Beef Bangers” had entered the European Sales Charts at No. 4 after one week of sales on May 4.

 

Filmed on location in London, “UK Beef Bangers” stars TIM exclusives Dawson and Brad McGuire, alongside an all-star cast that includes Ben Mason, Albert Victor, Adam Tremadoc, Tony London, Jiggy Mann and Wade, among others.

 

 

“’UK Beef Bangers’ is a video I am especially proud of,” Sohl said. “I am delighted to discover that our fans have made it the most popular video in the country this summer.”

 

The title is packed with more than 240 minutes and ten scenes, 25 men and more than 30 cumshots. Bonus features include a cumshot review and TIM previews.

Second, if you follow the link to Treasure Island Media you'll see they specialize in 'Bareback DVDs', which the DVD in question is. Now I'm not saying Daddy himself is promoting barebacking, I'm sure if he deigned to reply it'd be along of the lines of 'just linked it without any investigation or deliberation, too busy, etc...'.

 

But does that change the fact that the net effect is still free advertising for a bareback film--from a company that specializes in them?

 

Or is your tack that this is a "News Story" about something at the top of 'the chart' (a chart I hadn't heard of...)? Because it says "News Story" right at the top and is by "Company Press"? Like I said, to start the story is 'advertising by press release', and especially transparent at that.

I'm just guessing here but I wonder if those news clips on the front page are RSS Feeds. Daddy seems intelligent and I doubt he is sitting at home spending his valuable time selecting news stories for each upload.

I've confessed before that if I'm going to view porn, I like to see really sleazy stuff...stuff I would never do. That's why I like a lot of the straight stuff because those girls can be really cum-hungry. I'd have to ask the question then, "is Daddy's Reviews promoting immigration reform?" based on your point of contention. The news feed article right below the Treasure Island feature involves the recent shootings in SF by an illgeal immigrant.

 

There's a storm of controversy about sanctuary cities these days. Has Daddy taken a stand on this issue by posting an automatic news feed? Certainly not. It's a general interest item and I find these links to be interesting at times and a nice service of the site.

 

As to the larger question of the return of barebacking, it's here and it's not going anywhere for a while. Just take a look at the gay sections of Xtube or any other such porn sites. The vast majority of the uploads feature bareback sex. Uploads involving condoms are rare and tend to garner nasty comments.

 

Any adult video store manager will tell you that bareback comprises the fastest growing segment of their business. The major porn studios have gotten into this act even when the claim otherwise. The re-release of "classic" or "precondom" or "vintage" porn from the 1970's and early 1980's is legion.

 

Face it, times change and right now the pendulum has swung to bring back a practice that many of us find life threatening. In time, likely after a new wave of illnesses, it will (hopefully) swing back to safer practices.
