So much stupidity. PC in Canada can get really toxic.

Oh it’s not just Canada, many jurisdictions in the US have DMVs that screen personalized plates, to make sure they aren’t offensive.

 

I specifically remember a situation where an group of neighbors misinterpreted an individual’s personalized plates, and reported them.

 

The plate read N1GR8TR.

 

To the untrained eye, this could be assumed to mean something quite offensive.

 

However, after realizing that the owner of the plates was an elderly,religious black woman and that the plate was intended to be interpreted as “No One Greater”. Her neighbors relented, and later apologized.
