When my best friend was in the military, he became friends with Glenn, a gay comrade who was a real slut. Both of them got thrown out of the Air Force in a witch hunt for gays, and my friend moved into the apartment of an acquaintance of his in NYC who had an apt with an extra bedroom who was willing to rent it to him. Then Glenn showed up in NYC, with no place to stay. My friend invited him to share his bedroom, and within hours he had dragged a number in off the street for sex. Glenn brought back several numbers within the next few days. My friend was amused by Glenn's horniness, but the guy whose name was on the lease was not. On the fourth day he and Glenn came back from lunch, and found the locks changed and their possessions on the street. It was a rude awakening for both of them.

 

What's a witch Hunt by the military? Was someone out to get them?

It was in the wake of the Walter Jenkins scandal in DC. The military police were unhappy about reports that guys from the base were going to a gay bar in the town where they were stationed when they had leave on the weekend, so with the co-operation of the local police the MPs began a joint investigation. My friend was actually having an affair on the weekends with a local gay man--whom he had met at a church!--and both were caught up in it. Homosexuality was illegal (remember those days?), and my friend was discharged, as was Glenn, who was even more indiscreet about his sexual activities.

Furthermore, inviting random strangers into your home is placing you in danger. There are stories across the world, where the secondary victims of robberies and even murders, are the unknowing roommates of “free-spirited”, guys, who are inviting random strangers from hookup sites and apps into your home.

 

He’s crossing all of your space, safety, and financial boundaries. He has to go.

 

And don’t you forget about Covid-19!
