if an escort hires someone to text for him his potential clients is his business and his choice...

The ones that I know do it themselves.

It’s dishonest to act like the escort. I feel I ought to know I’m interacting with the escort or a handler. As I said, with the agencies both parties knew there was a middleman. Now, how are we as clients to know if we’re dealing with the escort or handler?

You have made your point clear already.

Just make them swear they answer you.

Btw try calling too!

also calling on facetime/WhatsAPP... unfortunately you might need to show your face.

I can only say nice things about Dave from Man4Man escorts. The first hire was a guy from California visiting NY (forgot his name - no longer in business). He was a real estate broker and didn't want his face out there on an escort site. His body was not the hottest, but he had such enthusiasm. I ended up hiring him 2x in 3 days. The other hire was 'Zach' from NY. Zach worked with Man4Man but also had his direct ad on RB. Hired Zach 2 times, the 3rd appointment attempt was a disaster. I feel bad for Dave, having to deal both with erratic escorts and erratic clients. Tough job!

Do you know if “Dave” for Man4Man also had a dating service ManDate? I worked with a Dave at ManDate for over a year. Never found the man of my dreams but I did find my best friend. This was about 35 years ago!

That’s sort of laughable.

I generally do a call first anyhow – especially if something in the texting exchange is off.

You're mistaken. Escorting income, like any other self-employed income, is indeed taxed.

How exactly do you report that to the IRS?

I don’t understand this notion that requests are so high...

And you don't need to. That was his decision to make. Your decision is whether to book this provider or some other who may be more to your liking.

Most people your age never talk on the phone

That’s a gross generalization with bias from an older generation. Just like it’s a gross generalization to say most people your age never master texting.

Never going to know if he’s not honest about whether it’s him or not. How am I supposed to know if I like a provider if I’m not talking to the provider?

I disagree. It’s part of the business. The notion that escorts time is that valuable...? How many other professions make $300/hr untaxed? To say nothing of the $1600/hr cited above. In another forum on here some folks rail against corporate pigs getting paid way more than they should ethically. Why do we seem to think this is any different? I know that’s a bit tangential to my original post, but I’m sure it’s underlying part of my feelings here. If you can afford to to pay a handler, you’re charging too much. I also don’t need another person aware of my dealings in this hobby. Who’s running the Venmo app we send money to for deposits? Just for example. We make a tacit agreement with the escort to do business with them...No need for a middleman. And then add to it that we don’t always know if there’s a middleman. And of course some middle men act as if they are the escort. There’s already a host of issues here that require a good deal of trust (on the part of all parties) to add dubious communication “with an escort” when it’s in fact not the escort just feels icky. The case of the agencies is different, to a degree, because everybody understands from the outset that there is some sort of middleman.

I never said or suggested an escorts time is more valuable. That is your assumption. Some people can’t handle dealing with the type of customer service needed for handling escort calls. Especially newer escorts. Or maybe the escort has a side business separate from escorting that having a handler helps keep track of the escorting side of things.

You can disagree. That is your opinion you seem to be based on your business experience and basing it on regulated business versus a business that has no regulation in this country. Except, to a certain degree, in Nevada. Lol!

I also think you’re assuming these escorts are overcharging to compensate for the handler. That may be true in some cases but not all. The agency I dealt with the most, every escort I asked said the handler got $50 from each hourly meeting. So the escort got $200 from a $250 meet up. I don’t know what the cut was per multiple hour.

I understand you don’t like the idea of a handler. I don’t either for the most part, but whether we like it or not some people feel it’s necessary for them to handle their business. Furthermore, as I stated if you do meet with an escort and found out he has handler. If you enjoyed him, ask for his direct contact. I have never had any of them tell me no.

You apply online. Really, these are questions that any CPA can answer for you.

I did not know that! How intersting. Does ManDate still exist?

Looks to be an online dating service. It doesn’t appear to be very slick, unless it’s just a poor mobile version.

Hi, I live in Canada where the hobby is not illegal, at least not for the provider, but I've never seen any cases of prosecution to clients.

Wouldn't be an advantage of agencies, for both provider and client in the US, to make sure they're not being framed in a law enforcement sting?

Again, I understand your point of view, but again whether you like it or not it won’t change handlers handling escorts.

Also, not all agencies are run they way you speak about. Agencies are not always differently than handlers in my experience. Let me give you my example. I have never dealt with an agency until I encountered planetjockboys. You could either email through the agency website or call a number listed for each escort. They had separate numbers for each guy. So one would assume when you called/texted the number it’s the guy you’re speaking with. Furthermore, when you contacted the number the person on the other end would always responded as if you were speaking to the escort himself. I didn’t know better... until that is, I met Ricky Decker through the site.

After out 1st meeting, I left the hotel and forgot my umbrella. So I texted Ricky and told him I forgot it and would it be ok to come get it. He said yes. As I was walking back to the hotel, I saw Ricky leave the hotel. Me wondering all the while where the hell he was going since he said to come back. Maybe 10 feet from the hotel entrance, he stops looks at his phone than runs back in. When I finally get back up to the room I asked him about it. He told me that PJB had handlers for all there guys. That he texted as he was about to head to a club in the area. So from that point on when I contacted a new escort from the site I spoke in general terms. Once I met with the guy in person, if we clicked I always got their direct number.

A few years later PJB’s management changed. I kind of assumed maybe their system had changed as well. They added Rowan from Corbin Fisher to the site. So I contacted his number. He asked me some questions and His approach seemed different than other guy I met through the site. So we set up a time. When we finally met, he talked to me in way that was clear, he had no clue about any of the things we talked about. So I asked him was PJB still using handlers? To which he replied, “yes.”

To this day, even though the website/agency is no longer outwardly operational the handlers still handles escorts on rm.

The only other experience I had agency-wise (which reflects more of your view about what an agency does) was the guy who managed Maximum. However, by the time I contacted him he shut down his agency. Nonetheless he acted as the go between myself the porn actor Cristobal from Papithugz.

It's very easy to get an EIN as a sole-proprietor. I used to work as freelance journalist/editor and that is what I did. You just have to put "cash accounting" as your method and then put whatever income you made. For escorts, I'd imagine Massage Therapist would be very acceptable category for the IRS...it is listed as one of the occupations you can choose. You can even look up the mean annual wage and ensure that you are comparable for that category.

@Kevin Slater is not being coy at all - and he’s very knowledgeable on the subject

This has been discussed numerous times.

If he’s not with a client, what difference does that make?

For a new escort, it helps a lot not having to concentrate on making appointments and planning time (on your own) to get to each appointment.
