big-n-tall
One. I have never been the type to hire someone and have another as a potential back up. So when I contact someone I have every intention of meeting that one person. In terms of no shows in all my time hiring, I can count on one hand how many times that's happened. So I don't and have never had to reach out to multiple hires to ensure that I get to meet one. + harey, Kevin Slater, Huxley and 1 other
crazyivan
I find it extremely weird recently. It took days for a provider I have never met before to respond to my text, and he is fairly well reviewed here. I have not been hiring for long, but when I first started, providers respond fairly quickly.

big-n-tall
How long do you wait, if he doesn't respond, to looking for someone else? Well because of my job it’s not always easy to hire some one then and there. I have to usually plan the meeting at least a week out. So if I put out an inquiry I don’t mind if it takes a few days. I think the longest wait I had for a response was 2 days, but that is rare. Most respond in under 12 hours after. The quickest was within a few seconds after I inquired by text. So most respond and if we are a match I set something up. If we are not a match I look elsewhere. On the rare occasion I get no response after a few days, I look elsewhere. Anything could have caused a delay in his response. Or he could just be unorganized lol... even if he’s well reviewed. + FrankR
For clients, I'm wondering; without your regulars, how many providers do you need to contact before you make a deal Under normal circumstance (which the past 4 months have not been) I don't text more than 1 provider, if that is what you mean. This is not the type of thing I want to multitask. If I am in the mood for company and find somebody I like, I will text and ask if he is available. If I don't hear back in 3 hours I will assume he is not. At that point I may reach out to somebody else if a suitable candidate can be found. Or I may spend a little time window shopping on Grindr with a stiff gin and tonic to keep me company. I am sure I will take the same approach when I start hiring again post Covid. + DrownedBoy
Very occasionally, I'll make a last minute decision to hire someone new, and need a quick answer. Last time, I had to contact 4 people before one agreed to a deal. To be fair, half of them, there was no deal because I thought their donations were too high. And I wait 15 minutes to wait if they receive my text.
Rudynate
I never hire on impulse. I always have a mental list of guys who I have been thinking of hiring for at least some months. There's usually a short "A" list and a longer list of fallbacks. When I decide to hire I contact one of the guys to set up a date. The date is nearly always a few days away - and I'm also flexible about the day. I'm not flexible on time of day- I really like afternoon dates. I dont usually have to consider any of the fallbacks - except when I travel. Huxley and DMICS
BuffaloKyle
I thought I was going a bit crazy when I was reading this thread and every reply was a double post. 😅
+ KensingtonHomo
I have to admit sometimes I put out a feeler to 2 or 3 guys. Usually, it will take a few hours to a day to hear back. Some never respond. I don’t feel like an initial outreach text is anything more than that. But once someone responds if he seems cool and the timing works out, I’m pretty quick to close the deal. I don’t leave guys hanging or expect them to chat for long. We have a few regulars and I usually reach out to them several days in advance. TopBunk
I'm usually arranging something with 3-4 providers at a time. Someone for right now, and others for later. If a provider cancels on me, sometimes I contact a few others then to ask if they have any availability for now/soon. But then I lower my expectations, sadly.
