Is it Findom or is it hate speech?

My twitter feed is inundated by retweets from hot guys using a variation of “worship me f@ggot and give me your money”.

I don’t get the whole findom thing, but how is this acceptable? Why is it okay for the former school bullies to now charge for this as a service?

There is no offer if there is no demand. One of the advantages of Twitter is that you can block the content you don't want to see, and problem solved.

I recall reading that in a dom/sub relationship it should be the sub who sets the limits. That should apply to findom as much as any other variety of domination. (I also don't get the concept, but I guess it happens.)

As the saying goes, there's a hammer for every nail.

Much of the findom world, as well as the dom/sub dynamic is just good acting. It's another form of consensual role-playing and if it's not something you like, it's easily ignored or blocked. I believe that dictating what is 'proper' sexual proclivity is a very slippery slope.

As Mike said, it's almost universally the sub who truly controls a scene. The same goes for those barking orders at others in exchange for money: If the supply of cash is cut off, they're immediately out of the job.

Again, the sub really has all the power.

I thought the saying was "a screw for every hole."

There is a simple solution: unsubscribe to the guys who re-tweet that stuff. There are plenty of hot guys who don't.

...I don’t get the whole findom thing, but how is this acceptable?...

I don't get it, either. Regarding "acceptable" vs "unacceptable," who is to decide other than the individuals who are engaged in the activity? To me, it seems like a cute phrase that means "paying for dom/sub and/or humiliation play."

... Why is it okay for the former school bullies to now charge for this as a service?...

Who is to say the doms are necessarily former school bullies? Many years ago I wanted to explore being a sub and met a dom who was a very, very nice man - anything but a bully.

Slippery slope is right! There are dozens of activities that strike some folks as being "strange" or unacceptable," sex between two people of the same gender being one of them.

Couldn't agree more!

The only thing I'd add is the distinction between "findom" and perpetrating fraud or theft. Findom is consensual and is done with both parties being fully aware of the nature of the transaction. Fraud, such as romance schemes, duping someone into sending money, stealing, and blackmail is completely different.

If they are retweets from others keep in mind also that that is a form of mutual promotion of fellow sex workers. Findom as well as other forms of domination on the large from a 'brand' perspective can be heavy on degradation and humiliation at times. From advertising and a platform perspective, 'dom' providers are constantly pressured to be the 'most of' but default innate personality. Unfortunately as well, and for your feelings too, the default to communicate this are the tweets your are referring to, as opposed to a more creative manifestation or broader repertoire to communicate the same sentiment.

I don’t think those posts should be acceptable, because they normalize the word “faggot” in the mainstream. However, I accept that consenting adults have a right to engage in findom role playing, even though that makes me sad.

I have never heard of "findom" until I saw this thread. I do not participate in Twitter. I hear that a lot of sex stuff is there along with pics, but I wouldn't know how to access it. Someday you younger guys will be facing this same situation. The world moves faster as you age!

Oh, it isn't just on Twitter! I've seen it in Rentmen ads. In fact, I follow a number of guys on Twitter and the first time I saw a findom-related Twitter feed was after reading this thread.

That said, any time you want to call this 56 year old a "younger guy" you go right ahead! :)

I now definitely watch out for FinDom as part of escort ads. I met with a guy like that in Denver for just a regular session and he really tried to turn it into a FinDom thing. At first it seems benign but then quickly becomes pushy and annoying. I won't be seeing him again.

I kid you not, @keroscenefire , while chatting with a guy today he asked if I was into findom. I replied: "Yes, I am. If you want some of my 'fin' then I 'dom' and you do what I want you to do. :)" He said that was funny.
