Edge is Microsofts version of a browser and is their default browser on Windows 10. I still haven't decide if I like it.

For a whole bunch of reasons, Firefox is safer. Edge and Chrome, among others, have a nasty habit of secretly watching you just like a nosey neighbor, whereas Firefox could care less. And it’s free.

hahaha. I just flashed to Jason Momoa's SNL guest host appearance, where he was an "elf on the shelf" to a kid who'd just discovered the wonderful things he could do with his body. The kid wanted soft socks for Christmas.

More accurately stated, It’s Microsoft’s new browser (It’s not really new) to replace Internet explorer. You can still use Internet explorer should you choose, you just need to reject it when you first see it, or in your settings to make “Internet explorer” your permanent browser.

 

Microsoft edge is the worst browser I’ve ever experienced and will probably be so until the day that I die.

It should be noted that there are two variants of the Edge broswer. There's the original Edge browser that shipped as part of Windows 10 which was based on a Microsoft originated browser engine. There also a Chromium (the open source core of Google's Chrome browser) that Microsoft recently released and is promoting heavily.

 

The original Edge was pretty bad, and poorly rendered websites and poorly supported add-ins. The new version runs Chrome add-ins and renders websites just as any Chromium based browser would. It's intended to replace the original Edge when installed. The main difference is that Chromium Edge has features that tie to Microsoft's account and services, just as Chrome has features that tie to Google's account and services. Microsoft recently released it and is trying to push it out to replace the original.

 

I use Chrome as my primary browser, with Firefox as a secondary, but I'm finding the new Edge is now an acceptable alternative.

I simply hate how (understandably so) Microsoft is constantly pushing their own shit. No. I do not want Edge. I like the Firefox I already have. I fired up my gaming computer the other day to play some Cities Skylines and I had to wade through 10 minutes (exaggeration) or nonsense to basically tell the computer to fuck off with the new Edge. We were not amused.

I have avoided Chrome largely because I use Google exclusively for searching and all my emails (work, private, and formal-private) are through Gmail. I use Firefox because I delude myself into thinking it’s the one way I can keep the Google juggernaut from having all my info. Ha!
