Some escorts have invested wisely and can weather this.

Some will fall back on their education and join the real world. Real estate, marketing, design, computers, accounting.

Some will find one singular client who will bankroll them.

And sadly, some will be totally unable to handle the reality of this new normal.

It’s probably to the last group where my question is intended to. I just edited my first post as it seems it’s being misinterpreted. Just trying to get some ideas to help someone I know who is just a student and has no idea what direction to take.

I don't want to get into another deep debate about this, but as I've already said in previous threads...this will come and go and simply become another news story once the next big headline makes way.

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2013/11/26/247379604/2009-flu-pandemic-was-10-times-more-deadly-than-previously-thought

Obviously what's happening is a terrible thing that is going to shake up the biz, but so was 9/11, the 2008 recession, swine flu, and the AIDS outbreak (before my time).

Look what happened after AIDS: the biggest porn names of all time were created, online male escorting took off, and here we are now.

Once the restrictions are lifted, people will be back to their way of doing things. When the pulse nightclub shooting happened, gay bars in Orlando didn't see crowds for awhile. Eventually people came to terms and started getting back into the swing of things.

But to answer your question: I plan to keep on trucking with it. I do need to make some changes here and there, but it's not an overnight process. You don't just stop working for yourself, and suddenly going to have something on the ready. As has been the case before this, I plan to situate myself in small markets and avoid the big cities. Recently laid off guys are coming on the scene expecting this to be something to fall back on, so we're going to see people coming and going.

As of now, all of my regular clients want to see me...but we're in this stronghold of social suppression, and it needs to be lifted before anything can change.

This pandemic is definitely not going to end soon. If you are not into doing OF, JFF or Camming, what are the lines of work that you will/would switch to?

This pandemic has affected me in more ways than one. I work as a personal trainer but currently can't meet clients in-person. I've been focusing on my online fitness coaching for the time being where I provide home-workouts and nutrition plans to my clients. Also the occasional cam shows help too. We will weather through this together! :)

Tell me about it!

What can you suggest to all the super sore, like your 1st time working out, when people finally do return to the gym?

I know for me: calves and biceps tend to be the worse, and longest to heal soreness to recoup from. Once the gyms do open, I plan to go light for atleast a week or 2. I can’t wait to go back to the gym, but I can wait for the DOMS after the gym lol. So far, my only exercise has been pushups, track, and jumping jacks. The occasional ab workouts here and there. But its good though because it forces me to do more cardio. I’ve gotten lean AF.

I can totally relate to the predicament of losing in-person pt clients, as a former strength coach. I've spoken to other coaches who have had to pivot to the online methods of coaching and all that it entails. Some are trying to keep momentum, others have their heads in the social media marketing options available, creating a custom branded curriculum, constantly shooting home content for their YT channel, etc.

While not everyone is or can be in that headspace as all our situations are different, it's nice to see people utilizing this time to learn a skill, reinvent themselves and serve it to a huge audience in hopes of a proportionately sizable audience offline once things return to normal.

The real question is how long will this last and what kind of jobs will be available. I'm sure most escorts will adapt to the circumstances, I've been surprised many times on here about so many of them who have IT education.

Exactly, some say this came out of the blue, but I think we had a 2 months warning.

Just FYI, the stimulus bill extended unemployment to cover the self-employed and at least in some states you can get benefits if your hours were reduced. My sister has a side gig walking dogs and now that most of her customers are home, she was able to collect partial unemployment PLUS the extra $600/week they put in the bill.

I applied. I pay taxes on my income, so I qualify as long as I filed correctly... Still waiting to find out. I always plan ahead for slow times, so even without possible govt money I've been pretty much set to weather this storm. I haven't depleted all of my cash yet and I have plenty of credit cards as backup... The ones that planned ahead for financial problems will weather the storm just fine....
