On this warm, if somewhat hazy (story of my life for the last month or so) Christmas Morning in Melbourne, my heartfelt wishes to everyone for a happy, safe and blessed Christmas* and a rewarding and healthy new year that brings you all you wish for yourselves and your loved ones.

(* Other seasonal holidays available.)

So - what does a jew do on Christmas Eve? This jew has had a music gig in a black catholic church for over 30 years now, so after I lit the menorah tonight at home, I went off to do mass. And not only do I play keyboard there, but I get to sing very wonderful goyish songs like Gesu Bambino and O Holy Night. Gotta love it! :)

(Oh, and since it's a black catholic parish, we also have a Kwanzaa ceremony after our regular mass this coming Sunday. For me, that's being part of 3 seasonal religious holidays in the course of one week!)

Happy holidays to all!

On a related note, here in the tri-state area the CW (channel 11 - WPIX) still shows the Yule Log for most of Xmas morning. I normally get sad during the holidays and feel a bit lonely but for some reason I find having the Yule Log on in the background soothing and comforting. I hope I am not coming off as sappy or a bit of a sad case...

Not at all. I had the yule log on this morning. They're showing March of the Wooden Soldiers right now and the Honeymooners Christmas episode later this afternoon. Also buzzr channel is showing a marathon of Match Game all with Betty White (Betty White Christmas). So some good stuff to watch if ur bored. I'm actually at my folks place but its just the 3 of us. They moved so far away from all our relatives that no one ever comes to visit anymore (except me).
