How to tell if an escort is real/ Am I being catfished?

He seemed like a nice guy in our correspondence, but I guess something just pings in my head that says something is wrong. Here are some of my thoughts that make me think he might be a fake:

 

1. No one on M4M can confirm that they have met him in person

2. All his reviews are 5 stars. When I clicked on the profiles of the guys who reviewed him, a lot of them were profiles that were created within a couple weeks of the review and they haven't been active as of late. I even looked at their other reviews and the guys had the same vibe as Ethan.

3. He says he's in Chicago but his GPS location says he's in Dubai.

 

I went ahead and messaged every guy who had met with him so I could get the full picture, and hopefully they contact me soon. He has a platinum boost, but does that mean anything? I've done a lot of digging and I'm still not 100% sure.

 

TLDR: I don't wanna be catfished my first time out with an escort. "If its too good to be true, it probably is" and all that. Should I ask him to prove that he's real? Is that too much?

I think all the points you made are valid. I think his pictures look a bit too professional. There is a way to check them if they are posted elsewhere (like on Instagram or Facebook) but I don't know how to do that and that information isn't always a red flag (for example, it could be from the escort's own Instragram).

 

You could definitely have him send a photo with today's date. Or you could just go for an escort you know is real by choosing one that is on DaddyReviews or has been mentioned on this forum. It's tricky...I do think most escorts are real, but there are some fakers out there for sure. Good luck and enjoy the hobby.

I believe the consensus on the forum is that unless you are the non-jitters type, you should choose a well known and well regarded guy for your first time.

The gold standard for confirming someone is real is quick video call. Not only does this confirm the person in the pics, you can get a sense if they might not be a good fit. Emphasis on quick, you shouldn't come across as a time waster. With that in mind, if someone asks for money to do this, I would recommend walking away.

@Sagittarius I can confirm he is real. I’ve met him in passing when we were both living in New York full time. I can not speak to the quality of his services nor his character, however.

 

Sometimes the forum does a phenomenal job of pointing out a fake. Other times I think you guys just like playing hysteria ping pong. Wouldn’t it make sense to inquire within a pool of reputable escorts to verify a colleague instead of speculating between an endless list of clients who have yet to meet the escort in question?

One thing lending me to think this is a real guy is that, aside from @hypothetically affirming he is a real guy, the private pictures which are fairly revealing. While they don't really show his face, there seems to me to be enough showing that correlates with the public pictures to say they are probably the same person. Often the true scam artists have stolen pictures from Instagram or Twitter and have no revealing shots.

 

Of course it's not impossible that a scam artist could find some nudes of someone with a passable (non-facial) resemblance to public pictures that they've found or even public pictures and nudes of the same model. It's also not impossible that the pictures are all of the guy advertising, but the guy is still a scammer of some type. After all we've all seen cases of scammers using their own pictures along with fake reviews.

 

I'm going to hope however that the guy is real, lives up to his ad, and that @Sagittarius has a great time.

I have no bones to pick with you about your taste in men, or at least this man. He's a knockout (although I'm not quite sure the platinum blond hair dye really suits him). But, and I'm assuming you are interested in meeting him in Chicago as that's the only USA city I see him listed in, Chicago is one of the top four escort cities in the USA (the others being NYC, LA, and SF).
