The OP’s concern was being catfished. Nowhere did he mention or inquire of the quality of his services. I gave him what he wanted. Even then, his response indicates he prefer the unnecessary security probes which will just lessen his chances of meeting the escort altogether, because who am I? Lol.

Your comment just takes up space.

This is not the first time you have questioned my posts. I know what I doing here.

..Go you.

You “sad faced” my comment on Monday and then circled back three days later to comment. Lol oh honey let it go. It was hardly worth a revisit. I had already forgotten about it.

Hey guys!! So I decided to pass on Ethan (we hadn't set any plans anyway, so no harm no foul). He travels a lot, so we might cross paths again. I'm gonna follow y'alls sage advice and book some time with a guy a bit more seasoned. Which I think I would benefit from anyway. And a special shout out to @Gar1eth and his advice! I'm looking at Brad Hunt, if you're curious lol. I DO appreciate the help and the effort to calm my nerves. Once I get over this hurdle I'm sure I'll be enjoying myself with all the other selections available. Thanks again guys!

?Surprised no one else has noted that Sagittarius attitude toward Hypothetically is completely dismissive which is rude and as if he doesn’t even exist on this thread when in fact he verified that the escort does exist; CASE CLOSED. That was the question and Hypothetically was kind enough to post a reply and say he does. This forum is called “Ask an Escort”.

I didn't think so either! Catfishing has become way too common on Grindr, so I think a healthy bit of paranoia is sound. I'm gonna take the plunge anyway. I'll either get a funny story out of this or a very hot one. Cast your votes y'all.

Anyone can instantly post for Free on Grindr thus there’s issues with “catfishing” as it’s free to post and it doesn’t cost anything for someone to play time wasting games.

To post on Rentmen requires us escorts to pay an advertising fee each month to the website.

I’m often surprised many clients don’t realize this

What does it mean to catfish someone?

So let's talk about what being catfished means... A "catfish" is someone who pretends to be someoneelse online. This person completely assumes a fake identity and goes the extra mile to make their victim believe that they are exactly who they say they are. It tends to happen a lot in online dating.

The original poster mentioned the prevalence of “CAT FISHING” one finds on Grindr. That is not the same as a shady escort using a fake pic. That’s NOT “cat fishing” by definition.

How’s that different from someone on RM using fake pics to lure in clients?

Thank you for pointing that out. It happens rather often and I don't take it personal because some clients prefer to take the long way around, pass up on authentic opportunities, and as I mentioned in another thread, play "hysteria ping pong" amongst one another instead of listening to someone who knows the business from the inside. It's not productive but that's a them problem, not a me problem.

The takeaway, from a lot of these threads is that the OP never had any intention of booking the escort in question, but instead raises a suspicion out of spite, resentment or an insecurity. People piggyback off of speculation and the question is never actually answered. So the escort in question is usually labeled as "fake" because a mob of people who have never met him agree he is suspicious. Logical.

You have the right of it to not take this personally. Even in this somewhat narrowly focused forum, hysteria is not limited to imagined issues with escorts, and when questioned, the hysterics frequently don't respond. 'Tis the nature of the web... :)

Catfishing is a completely fake identity; not using one fake pic along with others that may be authentic.

However, an escort can be a “catfish”. If he’s assumed a completely false identity with all fake pics, stats, etc.

There’s a tv show on MTV called Catfish that deals with real life examples of young single people who have been catfished. It’s entertaining.

I think the point is more that catfishing exists on RM as well as Grindr.

It exists everywhere. There are escort profes out there who do no not use a single real picture of themselves. I think that is what was being referenced to more
