I am very illiterate in some things and have no idea what ttfn stands for. Can someone explain?

 

As for FFF, well, I confess a guilty pleasure of reading his stuff.

Diversity of opinion has always helped drive this place. Can't say I always agreed with him, but his posts were never dull.

 

It would appear tho that FFF has about as thin a skin as BN. Wonder if they're related? Can you imagine the hue and cry if the DNA showed some distant cousin jumped over the fence in some past generation? Can you breed for thin skin?

Maybe it's a recessive gene?

 

Anyway nice to see BN still has his army to fight his battles. It's ironic if indeed he threatened copyright infringement given his personal history with his blog.

FFF spent MONTHS beasting on BN, over and over again, and BN did not respond. Nothing. Not a peep. No comment. Nothing. We've seen exactly ONE response from BN to all the animus directed at him.

 

Seems like BN has fairly thick skin.

 

BN responded once and FFF goes up in a puff of poof, never to be heard from again. (he says) (yeah, again) (that'll happen)

 

I'm no fan, but I'm impressed with BN's self control over the last few months. I'm not sure I could do it.

How can you possibly type the phrase "I'm no fan" about BN? You have defended Benji time and time again over the years, even when Doug uncoverd the serial cheating on BN's blog.

 

The only people who come out well from all this is Bruno Gaucho, who

demonstrated that a sense of humor goes a very long way, and Daddy, who finally had enough of FFF in his response at the top of this thread.

I must be suffering amnesia. Please provide links to all these comments. If I've done it "time and time again" they should be easy for you to find.

 

I certainly wouldn't defend plagiarism, and by then he wasn't on my short list of people to be stranded on a desert island with. (The long list, maybe -- tall guys can be useful. ;-))

I just thought of FFF as being vindictive and repetetive, so I stopped reading most of his postings.

I value the opinions of most of the people that post here, but I honestly can't say I valued FFF's opions.

Its not the situation that shows what a person is like, its how they handle a situation, and we all saw how FFF handled the situation.

You will have to go back to his first postings when he started posting here, a few months back, to see what his intent was, because he made it plain and clear what his intentions were.

Its true that some people found his posts amusing, but I myself am not into a Don Rickles style of humour.

That is correct.

 

FFF used the image and comment for months without a peep from BN.

 

Re-read the rules, specifically the section describing the action the moderators may take. It is COMPLETELY driven by alerts.

 

BN didn't say a word for months. When he finally did, "big man" FFF ran away shrieking like a school girl who just experienced her first period.

 

FFF was held to his own standard and couldn't stand it.

Well, there is a reason for good grammar. What I go out of your original post was that he CAN use it--just as he CAN jump off a tall bridge if he wants to. Your capitalizing CAN implies that you're distinguishing it from MAY, meaning being legally allowed to do something. Is it your current position that when you wrote "CAN" you meant to write "MAY"? The way you wrote it originally seems intentionally ambiguous in that you can later go back and say "I meant he was allowed to do it" rather than "he was able to do it."

I meant that he CAN do it but he may not have permission to do it.

This Munchkin has very mixed feelings about FFF's departure. Sure, the guy was a pain in the ass (and not in the nice way some of the better escorts are) but he often did have some good points he made with very trenchant style. I was thinking his endless going after BN was getting a bit old (I don't think BN is worth a whole lot of attention, one way or another - let the boy do his business and let his clients pay for what they get). His postings, however, often were some of the best here - funny to read even if you didn't agree with the content.

 

I for one will miss FFF and hope he will tread these boards again soon. As long as he is not truly clogging up the MC (sending 50 one sentence blurbs on any given topic), I will gladly suffer the curmudgeonly wit and wisdom of FFF if he were to re-emerge. If you don't like his postings, you can skip over them.

 

 

Let's hope that FFF comes back to the sandbox, even if he has to play by the schoolyard rules.

Second, I have been tempted to do it, however. It was rude in the first place and got dang boring in the second.

Third, If I did it, I would quite possibly have pointed out that it was copywrighted material.

So, are we sure that this alert was from BN? I haven't read everything on it, so I may have missed BN claiming responsibility for it, or something like that?

I used to enjoy FFF's posts in the old days, when he was just trying to be entertaining, and often said so. But when he re-appeared after a long absence to lead a crusade against BN, his posts had a much nastier edge, as crusades usually do. He was so convinced of the righteousness of his cause--and the righteousness of himself--that he would accept no criticism. He seems to think that he is punishing Daddy/deej/et al. by leaving the board--again--but I doubt that they will care. The MB was Hooboy's project; Daddy has maintained it largely because it is there, but I don't think he would have created it from scratch, and he has said (Hooboy said it, too) that it is not essential to the business side of the site. What FFF wants is for the readers of the MB to tell him that he is missed, or that even those who dislike him care about him enough to comment on his departure. I'm sure this thread has given him much satisfaction (hi, FFF!). And he'll probably be back eventually, in some form, if he isn't already.
