From my experience (somewhat insider) Asians are by far the main target of racist rejection by many providers. They say it's because of hygiene.

Bottom line up front,

Many ethnicities have stereotypes of other ethnicities body odor and assumed hygiene habits.

 

Typically what happens is that someone will witness or experience bad hygiene from a few people of a specific ethnic origin and then make a blanket generalization about the entire race.

Clients who are larger need to be realistic about physical possibilities (for example, a client with a large belly may not be able to top effectively) but an inability to perform with overweight clients is going to not only lessen an escort's potential clientele but flies in the face of the whole reason many people hire. Same with racial and ethnic preferences. That is why I say people with such preferences shouldn't be escorts in the first place. It's like being hired to working in a cafeteria and insisting you won't touch dirty dishes. (I had the pleasure of working with someone like that in college.)

In the past female sex workers had a valid but still mis-informed worry of black clients being pimps or robbing them. Today this is probably less of a worry as society progresses forward, more black men become affluent and enter into the hiring world. Now the cross over to male escorts. Most humans in general can not or will not identify reasons as to why something is. So male escorts, learning from female escorts, picked up this practice of not accepting black clients, even though the reason why didn't fully apply to them. Now fast forward to our current political and societal landscape, where race is at the forefront, and that has brought forward people's prejudices, which is only reinforced by practices that have already been in place regarding race of clients.

 

All of it sucks, and ultimately skin color should not be an issue in escorts accepting clients. Even when accounting for the authenticity of attraction and preferences, I pretty much echo @quoththeraven with her sentiments

Escorts occasionally mention specific clients. The usual complains are not taking time to shower and gross disrespect. Once a provider mentioned several names before I could stop him.

I’ve had escorts ask for my stats. Only once I have been declined because of my stats alone, most likely due to my race. And I think there is age discrimination against younger clients as well. For example over the phone I sound kind of young, and this weekend an escort asked me if I was a cop, I told him I wasn’t. Then he asked me to prove it by FaceTiming with him. I declined.
