I had a weird experience this week. I met with someone on Sunday afternoon, and left a rating on Rentmen of four out of five stars. The next morning, the guy sent me a flurry of text messages about how I’d left him a negative review and it was going to hurt his income. Worried I’d misclicked, I double-checked, and yep, four stars. He was just being weird about not getting that fifth star. Honestly, I thought about removing a star just because I thought sending me those messages was a little inappropriate.

The next day I got a text message from him thanking me for changing his review. I went to Rentment and checked, and yup, there I was giving him five stars... which I never did.

I don’t think he did it, he was genuinely thankful when *I* changed it. So I don’t know what happened, other than something super shady.

Doesnt surprise me of Rentmen shady behaviour.

Rentmen refuse to publish one of my review of an escort (new, gold member with no review) who I met and does not appear as his picture (using stolen images).

Rentmentreason because I didnt email the escort through Rentmen system, I texted the escort instead cause his phone number listed on his profile.

If it is any consolation, they would not publish a positive review I submitted because they had no record of me contacting the escort through their system.

Interesting... because it seems most rentmen want to be contacted out the the actual website.

I had that same experience last week. I contacted an escort by text, met him, had a great time, wrote a positive review and it was rejected because “No communication between escort and client via RentMen”. So I emailed the escort via Rentmen, he replied, I re-submitted the review and it went through. Seems like a lot of steps to have to take and doesn’t make sense to me.

You labelled Friendboy as FraudPro earlier this week - want to have a go at Rentmen also?? Are you going to let @Stanilas steal your thunder??? ??

See below from an older thread about RentMen. It is not without flaws either.

I recently had a bad experience where I showed up to a client’s place who was clearly under the influence of drugs. Physically uncomfortable as the client was irate and aggressive, I chose to leave and simply communicated things “were not working out.” Upon my departure I was threatened, hit with kooky text messages and finally, a 1 Star review on rentmen. Me and the client never even communicated through RM’s portal. I asked for the review to be removed and I was told it “met the guidelines” and the client would have to request for it to be removed himself. (Yeah right). The system is flawed, but there is very little than can be done unfortunately.

I just found this out from Rentmen

You can bypass "No Communication" rules by being Premium member aka PAID membership

Shady they are

RentMen refuse to remove stolen images or Fake Profile.

A Gold Fake escort use images of a friend of mine, stolen from his Instagram. I alerted my friend and He emailed Rentmen.

The profile still up and RentMen told my friend he need to submit proof of his identity, He has submitted his driving license, now they asked for his passport which my friend refuse to submit (Due to lack of privacy and security concern).

Heck there is even a RentMen Escort Profile using Zac Efron pictures.

I was a premium member most of my time in the US, and they didn’t give a shit per my request to have it removed. So do you mean you can bypass the “no communication” rules if you are a Premium Client?

So all this is why I just ignore all the reviews on RM. I generally ignore most of the advertiser’s “to do” list as well. Mostly fiction and marketing.

I do something unusual when I’m interested in an RM provider. I contact them and have a conversation.

I'm glad you were able to change it. I hope he didn't bother you too much with all the texts...

For the record, I've seen 5 stars reviews that say things like "doesn't match the pictures" or "outdated". I guess it automatically goes to 5 stars unless the client on purpose (or by accident like in your case) moves it left to 4, 3, 2, or 1 stars instead of five.

It's so stupid that rentmen doesn't post reviews if you haven't messaged the escort on their site. If there's a phone number on a profile then what on earth do I need to be messaging on rentmen for? My reviews are a proud list of some of the best boys I've had so when I post a new one only to see it rejected it's very disheartening. It's gotten to the point where I have to send a message to a boy right simply so that rentmen won't reject my review after our meeting.

There's been a few threads about this. Here's one:

https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/posting-rentmen-reviews.139883/#post-1681033

There are so many issues with their reviews that I don't even know why anyone would bother reading them. If Rentmen really wanted to stick to the rule of initial communication needs to be done through their email system, they should stop publishing providers' phone numbers, and let them supply that info once contacted. However, they will never do that because it makes no sense, and they would get a major backlash from every escort listing on their site.

Plus there's more rules to posting a review than you could imagine. It's a maze to make sure they can do whatever they want.

About three or perhaps four years ago, I saw an escort and rated him poorly on RM. The 'scort was furious when he read the review and contacted me requesting that I change it, the reason being similar to what MattDaniel posted. The guy ask that I request RM to delete this post, his first review and a negative one. I sent an email to the webmaster at Rentmen to discuss the issue and was told at that time he never posts a negative review if it's the first for the escort, but would delete at my request. I submitted, for I personally had nothing to lose. I'd already considered NOT seeing this guy again and to date NO LONGER has an ad at RM.

MATT, email RM and ask about the situation if it means that much to you. I think I would. Their consenting to delete a review per the reviewer's request is one thing, but changing the rating is a little much.

Piling on: I've been a premium member of RM, and it didn't help me get around their no communication protocol. I spent a chunk of time on it too, because the review I submitted was somebody I'd seen before and the first time I DID contact him through the website. I have an earlier review from that meeting, so there's an actual roadmap of how I found this provider through RM that they could verify just by looking at my history on their website. 4 or 5 emails explaining this before I gave up. Its just so idiotic.

Exactly! Make it happen! Send a note saying it was nice seeing you yesterday.

Btw some guys avoid bad reviews because they disabled the contact by email.

This is why I support alternative outlets like Friendboy.com or Mintboys.com. RM has recognized shady practices and an almost monopoly of the market in the USA.

However, I would not totally discard their reviews, just as I would not totally disregard any other piece of information that all put together may lead me to a better picture of the professional I am researching. I hope that long sentence makes any sense.

When I research a professional, I consider all the information I am able to gather. Besides their questionable value, RM reviews are a pipe to connect to other clients who do not participate in these forums. Sometimes we have an overblown sense of Daddy's reviews popularity. In my experience, we are just a little portion of the clients' universe. We can use RM reviews to reach out to those clients who do not know us and obtain a valuable input.

I had the same experience. Couldn't understand since it was a positive review. Rentmen tends to be kinda shady but it's what we are stuck with LOL.

I did the same thing in my case and they still opted to not publish the review. Go figure!
