Hiring Uber/Lyft drivers

I often get rides from college guys and they complain about how little money they make and how much they need to make to keep their studies at the uni. Last time I was very close to say - hey, dude, want extra hundred? let me blow you. - but chickened out.

 

Any had luck hiring Uber/Lyft for another type of "ride"?

Like you, I've been tempted, but haven't felt comfortable making a move.

 

However, I have met 2 guys online who just happen to be drivers - I had a fun quickie with a really nice Uber driver I met via Doublelist (he occasionally emails me when he's in my area, but as of yet we've only met that one time) and a disappointing time with a Lyft guy I met off of Manhunt (no chemistry in person - plus his pics, although real, looked much better than he did in person lol).

 

We have guys that drive "gypsy cabs" at a local shopping center - often I get rides from them when I have too many things to carry, etc. Mostly Dominican, I think, and other Latin guys, some African Americans. Most of them are "regulars" (some have been there for years lol). I do find a few of them hot, and sometimes I fantasize about asking them - but haven't gone there.

In time of #MeToo, I'd be scared to even offer anyone.... although there have been a handful I have wanted to. I have had a couple hook ups with them though... If I can see they are attractive I sit in the front seat and get to chatting, then when they put there hand on my leg I figure it's ok to ask.

Ride share companies are on the cusp of new technologies. Uber has jumped headlong into Uber Eats.

 

Maybe if the discussion regarding decriminalization/ legalizing sex workers - perhaps this be a new market for them. It would certainly give meaning to 5 *****

He did make the point though, that if he were to do a casual hookup with a rider, it would take time away from driving and making money, especially if it meant first driving to a place to get privacy. I guess if the rider were to give the driver a generous “tip” it could be a win win. ?

I was picked up by an Uber driver I had hired about a month prior. I recognized him but wasn’t sure if he knew me.

We made chit chat - I would have loved to have asked him to have come inside my drop-off hotel with me but it felt intrusive without the mutual recognition.

I texted him at his escort number immediately after and he said I looked familiar and he recognized the hotel. Oh well.

It was kind of fun thinking back on our time together during the car rider.

Well, I would be careful about just saying "Hey dude, want an extra hundred? Let me blow you." However, you could say "If you'd be interested in a a little business proposition, I can give you my phone number." That would put the pressure off of the both of you, and no one would have to be embarrassed either way. All gracefully done; no one's on the spot.

I'm glad that you "chickened out." You would have risked the Uber driver feeling unsafe and potentially reporting you for sexual harassment.

 

I've never hired an Uber/Lyft driver for sex, but I have been hit on by one. It was awkward because I wasn't interested, and I wasn't looking forward to being stuck in a car with someone after turning down their advances.
