Just in general. I’m guessing if there are reviews on this site about the ad it would be safer bet.

It would definitely be a safer bet to have a great experience!!

As far as law enforcement, just don't be overly explicit, for example "I just want to suck your cock is 200 ok?" Or " so for 250 will you top me?"

Just avoid drawing a link between money and sex acts and you will be 99.9999% fine.

agree on a rate "for time only" in pre-meet communication......presumably, you've already ascertained what the two of you will "do" in a professional, polite, discreet way

with new-to-me providers, I then ask that money not be mentioned again before or at the meeting.....I tell them that I'll pay at the end of the meet and ask if that's ok......

of course, sticking with well-regarded, "known" providers mentioned here in the forum or over at daddysreviews is one sure-fire way to avoid a sting

Today with no ads on Craigslist and the like? Less likely, I think. But many years ago I definitely ran into some odd things when hiring off Craigslist. On one occasion, I reached someone who proceeded to lecture me and then warn me that I could end up being arrested by contacting men running ads like his. On another occasion (and I'm still not sure how the guy managed this), the number I called was answered by my local non-emergency local police dispatch call center. Maybe someone placed an ad and forwarded the number listed to the police department? It freaked me out a bit but I simply hung up, saying I called the wrong number.

or you could do what one trusted, longtime forum member here does when meeting a new provider: immediately upon meeting, place a sloppy, wet kiss all over him!!......no self-respecting member of law-enforcement would tolerate that, eh??!!

I think this is hot?

But for deterring/avoiding law enforcement in my opinion is tacky and antiquated.

For arguments sake, what if it does end up being a law enforcement official with award winning acting and a stone cold poker face?!

MrEroticGuy, upon entering the client's abode, whips out his sizeable schlong and tells you to "touch it." I guess you'd have to be a pretty good actor to obey his command (without a hint of hesitation) if you were straight. Or else he thinks that police are not permitted to engage in any sexual interaction in connection with a sting.

How quickly we forget. Less than a year ago there was a long thread wherein a forum member (@paulvanl) claimed to be nabbed in a rentmen sting operation.

https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/rentmen-sting-be-careful.142226/

He wasn't very forthcoming with details but everyone (including me) took him at his word.

I mainly wanted to warn people and not get into too much detail until the case was resolved. It’s been almost a year now and the case is almost resolved. 200 hours of community service, a pretty bill from a lawyer and nice fine later.

That thread always read suspicious as hell to me.

Has anybody ever heard of police posting fake ads on rent men to bait people and arrest them? Or am I just being paranoid?

Once you've been doing this hobby for a while you get that 6th sense. I haven't (knock on wood) been propositioned by law enforcement. But you need to do research before you meet, in all honesty half these guys are using old pics and you need add at least 5 years to the age and 10-20 pounds to the pics. Don't worry about he cops, worry about being robbed or worse videoed without your permission. Always check the boards on here and ask the guy who posted what they are like.

We are all here to help, none of us want to read that someone got taken advantage of or worse. I've been catfished numerous times but I still go along with it. Last time in PHX, I met the guy and was like "really dude...you need to update your pics" and we still had a good time.

To me it's obvious when an ad seems fishy, you just feel it. The pic is of some really gorgeous guy, from some other country and there are no nudes, just maybe 1-5 pics all PG rated and a very limited description, maybe 5 words in a sentence. No phone number, no reviews, and the ad is usually up less than a week. Watch all your key words, if there is no mention of position or anything else.....it's a dud or they are straight trying to make an extra buck off you by allowing you in their presence. Some guys love throwing money out the window like that..not me....if I don't get a sense that they get naked and f___, they don't get my money. I can watch beautiful men at the gym and it cost nothing but my membership. I love eye candy!!!

The last warning will be the final one and by then it's too late, if they greet you at the door and ask for the money up front and ask what you want to do, the police need those two things on tape to scoop you up. If there is no conversation of, "hello, how are you, my name is _____ lets sit and talk" be wary.... Most straight cops will be distant and probably on the other side of the room or they will have furniture between you and them. There will be no physical interaction between you and them and once they hear you say the magic words, they give the signal and it's all over.

How do I know all this? I used to work for the cops.

Another red flag that I've noticed lately is when the photos of the escort display a muscular body (sometimes even a bodybuilder's body) and yet the profile description of "Body Type" is "Slim" or "Average." Also, if there is any lack of consistency in the photos (e.g. four of the photos show a young, athletic body but one photo shows an average-looking or older body), the least flattering photo is always the most accurate photo.

Finally, a current "Pro" ad on A4A from "AlexANDBrice" (super hot photos) in Indy/Chicago:

!TWO GUY'S HERE!We can host at our hotel or travel to you we give the best four hand body rubbs and plus so much more

DEBT ONLY (VENMOO OR CASSHAPP)

(MUST GIVE DONATION IN ADVANCE)

BEFORE GIVING OUR LOCATION

--- Just out of curiosity, I sent them a message asking if I couldn't just pay them cash when I met them and they replied: "Can't you read? Send the money first via Venmo!" Seriously???

This is a scam, I know because one girl that I tried to coach a year or so back would do this on Tinder and OkCupid. They are just trying to get "suckers" to send them money. When the girl wouldn't stop, I stopped associating with her. Sad because she had real potential ?
