If I'm meeting a guy for the first time in a public place with the intent to get to know the guy first, it would depend on the casino and the location within the casino. I don't want to be trying to talk to the guy over a lousy house band or next to the penny slots that pay out every 15 seconds with the flashing lights and blaring horns. But if there is a bar in a quieter area of the casino, it works well.

I've met multiple guys in Vegas casinos.

Got a guy to meet me at Starbucks in one strip casino (not mine - his) just to say hi, decide if compatible. Hired later.

Met a different guy 2 months ago in a Strip casino, just to be careful before going up to my room. I just sat at a slot machine, near elevator access point, awaiting his arrival, saw him approaching, said hello.

pretty much just like meeting at a very busy hotel, I suppose......the provider probably won't be able to come right up to your room because of elevator security, so a lobby meet will need to be arranged.......don't draw attention to yourself........some elevator lobbies are manned and you'll need to quickly flash your room key/card as you approach the elevators --- with your new friend close by your side........

good memory: I met Haus Weston at a major LV casino/hotel when he lived in LV about 16 years ago.......I still remember stepping out of the elevator and seeing him just casually sitting at a slot machine waiting.....it was my second meet ever with a provider and I was very nervous and that almost sabotaged the meeting (he was hesitant because of my nervousness).......it ended up going fine, but I didn't ask for much because of still being very new at this hobby......unfortunately, he died a few years later......at the time of our meet, he was in utterly perfect shape - trim, tall, worked-out shape, slight Southern accent, entirely masculine.........

sorry to veer off-topic.......

From my experience being in Vegas, 80% of clients we're at casinos. After the Mandalay Bay shooting all casinos beefed up security to where you need a key card to access the elevators. I've met clients at the bar a few times but most times we agree for me to text once I'm there by the elevators. Just be discreet and you'll be fine!

More than one rentguy in vegas has told me they collect roomkey keycards for all of the major casinos.

The cards dont need to function, the guys arent interested in room access. People toss cards upon departure, etc... so theyre easy to acquire.

All one needs do is flash a keycard to get to elevators. Few casinos require keycard to activate elevator, although most have card-accessible floors. I recall one resort turning on card access late at night, but disabling it daytime hours.

The guys only want access to knock on your door - no dishonest intent.

The elevator security is tighter in urban highrise offices.

Re: 24/7 surveillance video recording, it’s in more and more and more places, expanding surprisingly rapidly. And I look at as a positive as personal security for my sake.

I like meeting in hotel lobby (or casino) even if key card is not required.

I was recently staying at a funky hotel in Reno. No security guard at first floor, no elevator car keycard security. The elevator was for the convenience of casino patrons to get from street/lobby level to mezzanine, but continued up to rooms levels.

But that elevator stopped at the mezzanine level EVERY time. There was a 24/7 security guard at the mezzanine who wouldn’t let the elevator continue up to rooms level, or let mezzanine passengers in, until they showed room keycard. Was unusual setup. My UNR student friend and I walked right past security guard with a flash of my room keycard and no questions.

Agree. My condo building has 24/7 surveillance inside the lobby, and the outer lobby is view-able 24/7 on our TVs. The later has been useful recently, as we've had recent occurrences, even though the weather has not particularly harsh, of homeless folks curling up for a nap on the floor of the outer lobby. Obviously, police can only help us if if they are summoned as it happens.

Recently turned on the lobby channel, and saw a policeman, and a homeless person I've seen around the neighborhood. Someone must have called.

Keep in mind that ALL public areas likely are under 24/7 recorded video surveillance.

True, but also all the casinos are public places. One doesn’t have to stay at the hotel to go to the casino or even use the hotel pool. I imagine the surveillance is more for theft, robbery, mass shooting...versus meet n greet, date which I’m sure happens all day every day in Vegas. With so many people coming and going, it’s very easy to not standout.

Smaller hotels where you have to cross the front desk, smile and say hello to get to the elevator...not so

Most of the large strip resorts have security cameras in the elevators and hallways, too. So if being caught on camera bothers you, then good luck. But, yes, they are there for security reasons, not to try and catch patrons bringing excorts to their rooms. How would they even know that's what is happening just because two guys are walkgint down a hallway together. There's even security in the High Roller observation wheel, where a couple was caught on camera having sex in one of the cabins...git ugly since she was in town for her bachelorette party and the guy was not her fiance. Ooops!
