Some ad sites put varies under rates if you leave the field blank i've noticed. My rentboy ads say varies under incalls because I'm not doing them while traveling and there seems to be no way to remove that field on that site. I would think varies would be frustrating for clients as you don't know what you would be asked to pay for the guys time or if you are that interested in a guy charging a certain amount for what you'd like to do. That being said I find it very annoying to be asked what my rate is since it's posted on my advertising and kind of hard to miss.

ADS WRITTEN IN ALL UPPER CASE - isn't that just annoying. OK to use to emphasize a few words, but not the whole text.

thug

PNP

$$$$ - ads with dollar signs all over the place

'phone calls only' or 'no email' - email is just my personal preference for initial contact

ads with just photos and little to no text

A picture of the guy naked or nearly but obviously wearing a watch. Sometimes even a tan line caused by a watch.

A picture of the guy naked and gorgeous but smoking. Naked smoking bothers me more the handsomer the guy is.

Are there more of you guys who avoid an escort who charges less than $150? So far only one of us who mentioned it. And does this depend partly on which city he's offering this price in?

Another one is "Safe sex - Prefer not to say."

This has been hashed over in numerous threads before, often to the conclusion that it should not matter (for either client or escort): always assume poz and play accordingly.

Still, "Prefer Not To Say" or "Let's Talk" puts the question into my head -- just how aggressively UNsafe is he?

As Rick Munroe said in a recent round on this subject, maybe such bugbears ought not to make any practical difference in one's attitude, but nonetheless they do.

Adds that are written in the third person, leave a bit to be desired. The words, "body worship", top only, top escort, dominant. I look for guys where I will have a great one on one experice. On the other hand a turn on for me would be a Boy Friend Experience.

I agree with just about everything stated thus far but also dislike ads that say "just doing this for now to help make ends meet or pay bills". I immediately eliminate any ad which states "dominate top" or has an hourly fee of $300 or more. I will also not consider any ad that does not include at least one good nude torso shot. I also dislike ads that state the guy serves "men, women, and couples". I do NOT hire escorts who serve women -- yeah I'm a prejudice old faggot.

In case anyone didn't catch the reference, you were referring to when I said that if a client tells me he's HIV+, it's hard for me to get past that, even though I only ever practice safe sex, right?

What makes you skip past an escort ad? What words used in the copy or photo features make you bypass an ad?

Here are a few negatives for me:

1. Ads where the escort claims to have an extravagantly large cock, like 9 to 12 inches, but no photos of it. Generally means it is fictional. Those that got it flaunt it.

2. The word "bodyworship". Generally means he is non-reciprical and non-interactive, just wants a blow job that you pay him for. If that.

3. The word "thug". To me this indicates you're supposed to be turned on by an element of danger, which may be real or imagined. But just in case it's the former, I'll take a pass.

4. "Straight". Forwarned, this guy is repulsed by his male clients from the word go.

5. Ads where you recognize the photo as the same guy who advertised under a different name last week, and another name the week before. Why all the changing identities? Perhaps seeking to evade a bad reputation?

6. Prices over $300 or under $150. Over $300, a few pornstars like Chad Hunt may be worth it for all I know, but I wouldn't pay it just because they've done movies. Under $150, must be something wrong.

7. Photos that include female partners. See no. 4.

Yes! Sorry for any ambiguity. (Sometimes OK in an escort -- never in a post!)

I agree with JT. It's fine for an escort to say he prefers setting things up by phone but if the ad says the escort doesn't answer e-mails I move on. Now a note to glutes: Jake Walker's photos may not be recent (I don't know whether they are or not), but I saw him in March and they're accurate. He looks very very good.
