YES, totally agree. Listing city is meaningless, unless people also expect to create international laws forbidding providers to travel.

Listing city is meaningless for the huge chunk of providers who are sometimes/always traveling. Even ones who don't travel super often sometimes move. It's outdated info within a matter of days or weeks for traveling providers and sometimes even out of date after X time for fairly static providers if they move or visit somewhere for vacation and take clients where they are visiting.
I don't think there's really any real logical solution for this. The only possible solution is if the developers of the forum added a feature that somehow real time tracks the listed location of a provider in RM and auto updates posts with their name to change location. And i think that'd be very infeasible.
I don't know. This has never really crossed my mind as being an issue personally. Most providers I've hired in the past are traveling providers, and when i came here to look providers up i already had a name to search from browsing RM first. I'm generally not browsing the Deli and looking for my city in the titles because i already had it in my head from the start that many providers move around a lot. So i could be the odd one out in that way and this wouldn't ping as an annoyance for me.

That is not my experience at all.   The rates in this industry usually are not directly linked to performance.   In Canada especially, most top tier providers charge less than $USD250 at the current exchange rate.  Just got back yesterday.
