Legal is becoming a fuzzy matter in the US as various institutions are over-burdened and cherry-pick which laws they will enforce based on local political preferences.  SF is a prime example of this where one could argue that shoplifting is not illegal in that it is not currently enforced.

I've been seeing an uptick in newbies as well.  I met a couple and at this point have decided to assume that all newbies are either the local pimps new hires (I hope they are hired), cops, scam artists, or just flat out lame.  If I want to try out someone without any reviews, I'll go to a bar or use Grindr.  When I hire, I'm looking for a pro that can spoil me.

I'm sometimes nervous.  Kissing and massage are what work best to calm my nerves.  As backwards as it seems, I am usually most comfortable with the guys who are most forward and basically dive right in.  You really can't talk me out of nerves when that pops up.  Also, for me, nerves is a compliment as I usually only get nervous when someone is way out of my league.

It's called the oldest profession for a reason.  If they haven't managed to legislate it away yet, seems like it is time to throw in the towel.  Looks like people are going to continue to pay for sex for the foreseeable future.
The other thing that irritates me about this is that there is such a fine line.  If I hooked up with someone at a bar, had sex, and then gave my new lover some kind of a gift that's completely OK, but if it is prearranged there is a problem.  Sex is often involved in an equity trade anyway.  A girl looks for a successful guy to have babies with, but being a gold digger is legal?  The whole thing is crazy.

Except it doesn’t reduce demand, it just drives it underground. Any attempts to legislate demand or supply is doomed to failure. Better to regulate.

Never pay full charge in advance of the service if you don’t know the guy. I think you did the right thing.

Very friendly, but his pictures are at least 5-10 years old.  I'd put him in his mid to late 30's and he is even skinnier than the photos.  Really kind, so I didn't leave a review on RM, but I'd avoid all the same.

I think the notion that you can accurately plan a session down to the minute is insane and it ruins the mood.  I find the best escorts and clients understand that there's a +/- 10-15 minutes that just comes with the territory.  If I have a great time and it's 50 minutes, why would I whine about that?  Some escorts will cuddle it out, which is nice and all, but at this point I've got what I came for.  However, if there's an abrupt ending at 60 minutes, that's not going to lead to repeat business.  If an escort runs over, I'll tip extra for their courtesy; however, a good escort would be more interested in the repeat business or positive experience than getting paid for every single minute.

Pittsburgh is a desert for escorting.
It's probably the one escort who actually works there trying to protect his territory ! 😆

I'm the one that made the original comment that because of Covid, monkeypox, inflation etc etc, that you should be making it easier for clients to book, not harder.  It was in response to your thread in which you were complaining (again) that you only had one client in a week.  Now you think that requiring a preliminary deposit just to ask questions is going to help that situation? Good luck with that.

Basically be a decent person yeah? That’s kind of a given but it’s surprising that there’s some clients (only a few) who don’t manage that.
The difficult clients for me are the guys who seem to have massive issues about seeing me: they won’t make eye contact, they are uncommunicative and seem kind of inhibited but then very quickly they start to behave like they’re in a porn movie and then once they climax it’s like ‘oh I’ve got to get out of here immediately’ levels of shame.
I know doing any kind of sex work is akin to being a therapist of the mind as well as the body…. in fact I think that’s the key to doing sex work well, understanding the motivation of the client (the brain is the biggest sex organ!), but really there’s a lot of therapy some clients need working out about their issues over seeing a sex worker. Much of it seems to be guilt caused by religious indoctrination.

Sometimes, when we meet a provider that we find great and repeat with many times (as you wrote happened with you) something happens that we cannot explain, even to ourselves, which is, "the fire goes out" on the relationship for the client or with the provider.  You said you knew the provider about five years.  People can change markedly in that amount of time.
It is nice to think back how great things were while the relationship occurred but when that passionless day comes, passion fades away.   As the old saying goes, "When the horse is dead, it is time to get off."
The best is to cut the relationship.
