You do him proud. Bless you. I'd rather be amazed by an unexpected recovery, but I am at least comforted to know you made sure he was cared for as best as possible. Nothing erases this sort of loss, but having done your utmost to ensure his care should be reassuring. He is and will be missed. You have done great things for him.

Sorry for this Bluefin. I think it's ok to have a crush on your masseur as long as it doesn't start to become toxic to your emotional/mental health. I think the majority of guys (especially those who are single) are always in the search for a human connection and human touch is an amazing feeling.

I'm so sad to hear this news.

I think of all the people I've met and conversations and adventures I've had and smiles that have been put on my face as a consequence of me being on this site and I'm truly, truly grateul. I imagine we all are, and I hope that Daddy understood he wasn't just running a website, but rather holding a space for our community.

    Rest easy, Daddy xo

Mortality's never an easy subject but Daddy certainly extended HooBoy's with this site. And he's definitely notched a space in all of us who use it for himself.

    Life well-done Daddy, life well-done.

I am very sorry to report that Guy Fawkes/daddy passed away this evening of heart failure. For over a month he remained in the hospital unconscious and on life support.

His passing touches us all. He was a man who dedicated his life to providing a Forum where men would feel free and comfortable talking about all sorts of topics that covered our life style.

Having worked with daddy since he started this site I got to see first hand how much he cared about people and viewed us as his family. He was a very bright man with a love for life. He will be missed.

    RIP Daddy/Guy Fawkes

    With sympathy,
    Cooper

Well, keroscendfire if you are a fan of teriyaki chicken you should love one of the items I'm serving at the Sunday Pool Event - Curry Chicken Skewers with Lime.

Here is the list of what’s on my menu besides the Chicken Skewers and the Deviled Eggs: 1.) Dates Stuffed with Pistachios and Dried Apricots, Wrapped with Bacon and Marinated in a special Teriyaki sauce, 2.) Buffalo Wings with Bleu Cheese Dressing, 3.) Marinated Chinese Style Spareribs, 4.) Grilled Steak Kebabs, 5.) Deep Fried Won Tons with Sweet and Sour Sauce, 6.) Sausage and Spinach-Stuffed Mushrooms, 7.) Shrimp Ceviche and 8.) Slider Sloppy Joes. Oliver will likely be providing several additional items.

    Please, PLEASE arrive hungry.

Cooper, thank you for your ongoing efforts to check on Daddy's status and to keep us apprised. The dialysis news is concerning, but not surprising. My father required dialysis the last few years of his life and I learned that the kidneys and lungs are the two organs that do most of the cleansing of toxins so if one is compromised, the other often falters from strain. At least dialysis, though debilitating, is an effective means of cleansing toxins. Ultimately, though, the lungs need to do their part. I also know, as my mom was diabetic, that diabetes can compromise the kidneys. So Daddy has at least two factors contributing to kidney failure.

Most concerning to me is his enduring lack of responsiveness. It does sound, though, that he is getting every opportunity to rebound. That leaves room for hope.

Based on my experience with my father, I know that sedatives can depress the function of one's organs, so ceasing the sedation is a means to give Daddy a better/purer chance of having his body do the most it's capable of doing.

While depressing, this news at least, for me, suggests his doctors are not writing him off and are doing all sorts of sensible things to give him the best chance of pulling through.

Again, thank you for all you have done.

Update: Friday, March 26th: called the hospital to get an update on Guy’s condition. It’s now 1 month since he was found unconscious on the floor of his apartment.

    Some changes from Monday’s update.
He now has the tracheotomy replacing the tube down his throat. He’s no longer being sedated or receiving any pain medication. He’s unresponsive to any commands and hasn’t opened his eyes this week. His blood pressure remains high. I asked about his organs. This is the 1st time I was told he’s on dialysis. He’s still on the ventilator and his skin sores are not healing.

This medical report was difficult for me to hear and I’m sure it’s difficult for all to read. We’ve been keeping Guy Fawkes/daddy in our thoughts and hoping for the best. As I mentioned earlier, he’s been unconscious for a month and the reports haven’t shown any signs of recovering.

If anyone wants to visit Guy in the hospital, please send me a PM for the details.

Wish I had better news to share.
    Cooper

Just got rid of cable two weeks ago and am glad! I tried to get rid of it last year but Spectrum offered me free high speed internet (1 Gbps) if I kept cable so I did.
I share streaming services (netflix, hbo max, disney+) with two other friends who live alone and i've found it helps me save some money each month.
