I have to agree with the OP somewhat- haven't hired a new guy in months because of rates spiking and communication with inquiries being a combination of unresponsive and curt. It just feels like a lot of work in order to spend money and I'd rather just see my regular every week.

As much as I understand your point not everyone wants a Ferrari (Instagram model), besides not all guys can achieve the BFE @xyz48B likes during his weekends. Chemistry is like fetch, some can't reach it.

Its called being greedy. Its also a sign they are not getting enough clients. I have spoken to providers who say they way more than their day job and they charge 300. I know another one that does 250 and he's living in a really nice apartment in Miami and going to college.

It is. It’s disappointing when we end up paying and aren’t satisfied…Especially disappointing if we pay a premium. At a certain point, there’s a diminishing return on investment for satisfaction. I don’t need to pay a premium just because some guy has done porn; in fact, my experience with guys who’ve done more than several porn shoots (not “big” names, but still) has been more the more entitled crowd. The guys who are “just” escorts have been much more down to earth and less caught up in their own glam. At this point, I’m not interested in paying for a porn star. He won’t be as gloriously manicured and stage lit when we’re together anyhow.

I disagree. It is possible for the two relationships to exist simultaneously. I have read people in here recount friendships with escorts enduring when the escort retired. I have friendships with escorts with whom I have discussed hiring (and not done so yet) and others where I have had social interactions and even travelled with, where we have kept the sexual part of our interactions professional without compromising the friendship. Not all escorts are open to that, but don't discount the idea that some may be.
If I had a mate who was a lawyer or a plumber, would I engage them professionally without expecting free or discounted service? Of course I would.

Stick to your regulars if there's chemistry both ways.
This is not the first time you complained about rudeness by escorts.
Remember most escorts (specially while visiting a new city) are overwhelmed by the number of text messages they receive. Have you tried talking on the phone with them to see how they treat you? Yes I know... some refuse to talk on the phone.
400 is NOT the new norm but if some ask for it is because clients are willing to hire THEM.

For the (rare) total package that I want, yes, I would pay $400. This 6 foot 3 inch muscle god with the thick dark hair and gorgeous face, eyes, and lucious lips that kiss me great would have extra-broad shoulders, a massive and hairy chest with a treasure trail that leads to a thick 9 inch dick that fucks me until my eyes roll back in my head and, below that, hairy muscular (but not bodybuilder) legs. Not too much to ask, right? And worth every penny of that $400. Now, if only I could actually FIND him. 🙂

See…I don’t know what you mean by “best.” What do you mean? Do you mean rate? Do you mean time? Do you willingness to certain things? All those things can and should be factors worth considering. No one needs to be a jerk about it. Business is business. But it’s really simple economics at the end of the day.
I’ve never had an escort tell me he had a better offer. Normally it doesn’t get that far because I don’t agree to a rate unless I’m seriously booking. If I’m asking questions about what he’s willing to do and when he could meet, that may affect my willingness to pay a bit more. (Even though we *know* we’re paying for “time.”) If we discuss money – talk that really kills any vibe – then I’m committed and not making plans with another guy. But before finances are discussed, I don’t think it’s unfair to discuss potentialities with several providers.
At the end of the day, it’s business. And even in business you shouldn’t be an asshole. When doing projects for work, we solicit RFPs and whoever is deemed the best for our needs gets the job. We still need to inform the other bidders, but we don’t tell them, “Sorry, fuckers! We aren’t using your expensive-ass operation!” We simply say that we decided to go with another service provider. Professional and polite, but definitive. I can’t understand why that doesn’t apply here.
It’s almost like escorts want to run a business until they don’t. This business is a business like any other until the rules of business are disadvantageous to the escort. Then all of a sudden it’s a very different kind of business. When things actually happen, that’s different, but leading up to, there need to be some assumed norms. Approaching things from a normal supply-and-demand angle is fair to everyone.
And for the love all things holy, please just everyone treat everyone with respect. That covers a host of problems…

It really is acceptable for clients to approach multiple providers. It’s also reasonable for everyone to expect decent, polite interaction whether you’re dealing with multiple clients/providers. They’re not mutually exclusive.
Why is it okay for a provider to ask me if I want to meet tonight because he’s trying to pin down timing with another guy if I can’t do the same with a provider from my perspective? What if I want to see two guys tonight? One right after the other…I may need to coordinate that scheduling. A provider shouldn’t feel that’s inappropriate. That’s my prerogative.

You’re joking, right? You seriously think clients should only message one provider at a time - especially if time is a factor?
I message the four guys providing tickets on Craigslist and one of them gets back to me, I buy the tickets. End of transaction. If the other individual does get back to me, I can politely say that I already purchased tickets from someone else. I don’t see why that’s a problem.
Why this idea of messaging only one provider at a time, especially if time is a factor, breaks down is pretty easy to explain. And with real life examples. I’ve messaged providers who don’t respond for hours, maybe even the next day.
Providers will talk about how many guys they get messages from every day. They presumably deal with those messages while also still doing appointments and booking other appointments. They have multiple clients. Clients also have a host of providers to choose from. When ready to hire, especially if it’s for tonight or sometime when time is an important factor, finding a provider who can see you at that time is important. So messaging multiple providers for a particular timeframe, at the minimum, is fair.

Potentially. I like to remember that what we see here on the forum is a mediated reality. We don’t present our whole selves. It’s hard to draw conclusions based off what we see here…about as hard as it is to draw conclusions based off RM reviews!

Ain’t that true. I’ve paid top dollar for mediocre service more than once. I almost feel shameful what my best regular asks, but I tip.
I would never haggle as you say. But if a provider asks me what I’m willing to pay, then it sometimes turns into a bit of a back and forth. I’ve decided what my limit is because as you say, price doesn’t necessarily equate to quality. I haven’t really noticed a difference in quality above $1800/night. But maybe I just haven’t met the right provider asking for more than that.
I also don’t really “buy” into paying for a name either. I know some guys like that, but more me, looking for a BFE, it’s more important that the connection be there than for me to know I’ve fucked some porn star. There are different things that motivate different guys. I suppose if I wanted to start notching my bedframe with porn star conquests, I could hire for an hour instead of an overnight, but that’s just not really what I like. I like pretending for a weekend I have a partner…That’s what I hire for.

I see it differently. I would obviously only hire one guy. But I might send out four enquiries to see who’s potentially available, who’s got the best rate, who seems legit, who seems even genuinely interested. You may only get one response back from sending out RFPs…I don’t think it’s unreasonable to solicit multiple “bids.”

I find a lot of inexperienced guys have a bit of a delusional idea of what they should expect as far as compensation. A bit of experience will probably help them. But therein lies the Cath 22. They need to get the experience but guys don’t like getting shit on either, so they aren’t hiring these guys to give them experience. It’s better if people are just decent in general. I suspect the guys who are simply good guys will end up doing better than the guys who see horny guys willing to buy sex as nothing more than ATMs.

@nycboi– You must learn. The escort denizens deserve it! They’re entitled to. You should be happily handing your money at $400/hr over to them. If not more!
You’ve asked a forbidden question. You’ll be told if he can get $400/hr, it’s not too much. Just like Jeff Bezos making his fortune while Amazon workers can’t pay for basic necessities. Bezos can get it, so it’s not too much.
