Oh, that's too bad. What happened?

The Los Angeles Olympics. In 1984, not 1932!

Toledo vs Granada vs Salamanca vs Arcos

Are there any non-lethal bullfights? My understanding is that either the bull is going to die, or the matador will be injured or killed. I was tempted to see one when I was in Spain, but the sight of blood makes me queazy unless it's coming out of a medium-rare filet mignon. -
Leak NYC, the Victoria Secrets from men...

At least they didn't call themselves 'Discharge'. -
Do most of the museums have English signage for exhibits, or is it all in Portuguese? I try to avoid the headset museum guides, and prefer to read the descriptions beside each exhibit or artwork.

I hope for his sake that wouldn't make a difference. Boundaries are there for a reason and should really be respected, IMHO.

Has Anyone Tried Shirataki Rice / Noodles?
CuriousByNature replied to + MysticMenace's topic in Men's Health
I tried the noodles, but not the rice. I didn't find them unpalatable, but then again, I often use quite a bit of spice when I cook. -
Seems that his ad is now goneeeee

Someone within her circle may have communicated that she only had days left, or she may have told the theatre organizer that she was going to be euthanized. It's all assumptions on our part. Regardless, the response of the theatre doesn't have to be seen as something creepy, but rather, as something to honour a much-appreciated patron while they were still able to.

I agree it would be quite creepy if the organization was celebrating in anticipation of receiving a large inheritance from someone about to commit suicide. But I think it might be an assumption to think that was the case. She was an elderly woman who was terminally ill. Her plans may not have been known, though perhaps given her condition it was thought she wouldn't have that much time before passing. The organization may have realized there might not be much time to show her the appreciation they wanted to, whether she had a matter of days or weeks left. While it may be safe to assume she would leave a bequest to the organization, it seems that the organization may have wanted her to feel loved and appreciated for the support she had already given through the years.

Still zero - LOL

But what about my one big ab that stretches from ribcage to waist? I mean my friend's ab.... LOL
-
LOL - apologies - not just off course, I took that to a completely different highway...

Is it better to have six or eight small abs, or one really big ab? Asking for a friend...

Maybe he changed his name because he hopes people will give him Thebenefit of the doubt? 🤣

Nobody knows the back story to all of this, but it is never okay to react to words with violence. This was yet another example of an entitled celebrity having no shame about behaving reprehensibly. I am pretty sure there will be no lawsuit, no charges - nothing. What's the point of a lawsuit - unless Will Smith had to pay a couple of hundred million dollars it wouldn't be much of a punishment for someone of his wealth and fame. Those who are fans of Will Smith will no doubt rush to his defence and explain his actions away. I found his acceptance speech to be bizarre - he apologized to everyone except the person who actually deserved the apology. That is not remorse. It is hypocritical and completely self-serving. That line about 'love making you do crazy things' is not any different than the excuses many abusers use to explain away their actions. Disgusting. Had he apologized in his speech to Chris Rock I would not likely take such a harsh view. Chris Rock was clearly shaken up by this, and I hope he is able to rise with graciousness and not take this further - though he certainly could, and it would be understandable. One person who seemed to be particularly disturbed by Will Smith's actions was Denzel Washington, who is one of the most classy gentlemen in Hollywood from what I understand. Maybe Will can take a few lessons from Denzel - someone who actually lives according to what he preaches.

Most overrated/underrated tourist attraction
CuriousByNature replied to BSR's topic in The Travel Desk
Are you sure those were ancient sacrifice victims and not last year's tour group who couldn't find the exit from the caves? LOL -
Thanks for clarifying - I hope that proves to be case going forward as well.

When you say, "...the virulence (danger) of all of the current strains out there is LESS THAN THAT OF THE COMMON COLD to the vaccinated..." are you meaning those who are healthy and vaccinated, or do you also include the immunocompromised in that statement? I ask because my understanding is that those with compromised immune systems are still at risk of serious effects, even if they are boosted. I would love it if they were just as protected, but from what I have read, it doesn't seem like it. For that reason I still wear a mask much of the time - just in case I somehow have contracted COVID and could potentially pass it on to someone unable to fight it as well as I am able to.

I have heard that many things become way loose as they near the end of their operational life... lol.
