It sounds like he's trying to create a scary situation for you because it's easier to get what he wants amidst the darkness of fear. So maybe flip the lights on him. Dispel that darkness by letting him know that if he continues this ridiculous course of behaviour you will have no hesitancy contacting the appropriate authorities, and that your patience is now running thin. Your time with him was based on the reasonable understanding that no donation for his time was being expected or requested. It was a hookup that went badly - those things happen. It should not rob you of your power or turn you into a target. Assure him that he has more to lose since blackmail is a felony in most places, and can result in serious jail time if he decides to continue with these absurd antics.

I can't imagine anything that can equal the feeling of thankfulness and appreciation. It is the best place to live, for sure.

Unlike you I would consider myself to be religious, but very much like you, I try to wake up with a sense of thankfulness for the blessing of waking up once again. I also know that one day that won't happen, so I do try to appreciate it, even when other concerns and stresses try to interfere with my ability to be thankful.

My father was more soft-hearted than my mother, but neither was really affectionate to any of us in the family. Come to think of it, I almost never witnessed any physical affection between them either. So, physical affection isn't something I've ever really received (or given) in my life, though I have tried to be emotionally affectionate through kindness - if that even makes any sense. My siblings have all gone on to have somewhat healthy romantic relationships (not with each other, thankfully - lol), so I am very much the oddball of the family in that regard.

On my 2nd or 3rd cruise I noticed gatherings for Friends of Dorothy and Bill W but never thought much about it. Then the next cruise I noticed that both Bill and Dorothy were on the same cruise as me again. Who were these people stalking me? Lol. I saw in the daily bulletin that Dorothy's friends were getting together in one of the small lounges, in a quiet and less frequented part of this very big ship, so I decided to investigate. When I arrived I peeked in. There were several pairs of people mingling around, and a few who were solo. Suddenly two middle-aged women came in behind me and one grabbed my shoulder and said, 'C'mon in with us Sweetie and have a drink!' I froze. I was caught crashing a gathering for someone I had never met. As I turned to escape all I could blurt out was "Uh, thanks, but I shouldn't be here - I was just wondering who Dorothy was because we always seem to be on the same ship." Their laughter followed me as I slinked back down the hallway... later in the cruise a crew member explained who Dorothy and Bill actually were. 🤯
