  1. Much less expensive than finding someone on RM to handle your package
  2. How on earth are you able to come to that conclusion?
  3. Cancer truly sucks, and I am very sorry that you are having to go through this. For what it's worth, you're in my prayers for a complete remission. Nothing is impossible, despite what the PET scans indicate.
  4. It seem like she is used and taken advantage of by almost everyone who should be protecting her. Very sad.
  5. How do you make that? Sounds awesome...
  6. And there are some contributors who are excellent writers.
  7. I wonder if it also has to do with a lack of exposure to different cultures, identities and perspectives when living in rural places? Cities are generally cosmopolitan and diverse, and even those folk who may not be as educated as others will still meet people every day from many walks of life if they are living in a city environment. While there are certainly bigots and ignorant people in every city who may never change their views, becoming more familiar with those who are different than ourselves can facilitate greater respect for others.
  8. Thanks for asking. I thought FOMO was a massage technique, maybe like Nuru... 🤣
  9. A Vanderbilt? But of course, not Anderson Cooper... lol
  10. Me as well. Even though I am now 49 people often mistake me for 48.
  11. It is a very sad story. I have known people in their 60s who should have given up their licenses because they could no longer drive safely in my opinion. And some in there 90s who still drove amazingly well. Perhaps drivers over 75 or 80 years of age should be required to have an assessment every 6 months by their doctor, since health conditions can deteriorate rapidly and a person may not even be aware of their own decline. I once knew a person in their 80s who had developed pretty poor vision, and it was a requirement on her licence that she wear corrective lenses when driving. However, she refused to wear her distance glasses because she thought they made her look too old. After several fender-benders that were all her fault, she voluntarily gave up her license rather than wear her glasses. A case of vanity triumphing over common sense.
  12. It seems to be almost the opposite here in Canada. Up here I have found that much of the country is relatively liberal, but almost everywhere you can find small pockets of conservative and even ultra-conservative. Except in my experience, Alberta is quite a bit more conservative generally speaking, and the liberal population there is much the way you have described the southern US - pockets here and there. Though the city of Calgary is more of a liberal oasis. I haven't travelled extensively through the southern US, but I have enjoyed New Orleans each time I have been. And I never really felt unsafe, but then again, I don't go wandering about at night and I often stick to the more touristy areas.
  13. It could mean that he won't melt if you throw a bucket of water on him.
  14. Hopefully he didn't start at 100
  15. Yup. That projectile vomit has me rolling on the floor every time. There's just something about demonic possession that tickles the funny bone.
  16. At an estimated average of $7.5 million grossed per concert, $100K is only 1.3% of the nightly ticket sales. It's like someone grossing $200 in salary per day giving up $2. $100K is a huge amount for many people, but it's less than a pittance for someone with a net worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm not trying to sound holier than thou, but relatively speaking, it's ALMOST the least thing a singer in that sort of situation could do for their fans who have spent their hard-earned money on concert tickets.
  17. I found two new moles today as well. But those were on my shoulder.
  18. ... or a Persian carpet and a helpful lady's maid. Poor Mr. Pamuk... but he did go on to better things in Sicily according to The White Lotus
  19. That's a good perspective. I was amazed to see how authentic most of Dresden looks and it was hard to believe most of it was flattened during WWII. It took decades for it to be rebuilt, but unlike Maui, much of Dresden's rebuilding required time consuming and costly stonework. And it took years to clear the heavy rubble before reconstruction could begin, as well as having to deal with all the other post-war recovery matters under the communist leadership of East Germany at the time.
  20. Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis, is one of the most talented on the show. When she first appeared years ago it was a breath of fresh air, and then she disappeared for a while before coming back. I think the show is much stronger with her in it.
  21. While this may be hard to believe, I have run into a few people from the 1950s - rare occurrences but not impossible. And I have heard rumours there may even be one or two people from the 1940s still alive somewhere amongst the 8 billion people on Earth right now, though much like dark matter, their existence has only been inferred rather than proven.
  22. The stuff of nightmares. I wasn't aware that the Brazilian wandering spider has black and red markings - perhaps it is a different species of wandering spider that was amongst those bananas. I recall reading that the Brazilian variety in particular is quite aggressive, often biting several times and injecting venom rather than using defensive dry bites when threatened. I saw footage once of one running up a broom to try to bite the person who was attempting to squish it. Regarding their viagra-like venom, I would rather be impotent for my entire life than to encounter one of those beasts.
  23. I'm not into feet at all, but I've never seen such elegant looking feet with toes of that length and proportion. He could be a foot model, or at least perch on a branch very easily.
  24. Y&R is a great show. i have often felt it was more like an evening drama/soap that happened to be broadcast during the day. And Chelsea is super cute.
  25. Based on what we hear about in many posts regarding incongruent experiences between actual meetings and what is placed in an advertisement, I would recommend that no part of an advertisement be taken as a 'certain thing' - especially for things like health status which are impossible for a client to verify. I believe it really comes down to determining one's own acceptable level of risk, under the assumption that advertisements may not be truthful in all of their details.
