Maybe the plan is to keep asking for continuances for the next 15 years, and then hope to get a sentence of 'time served' -
If this is the case, perhaps consider doing a cruise that visits Alexandria? You can join a ship excursion to visit Cairo and Giza and be surrounded by other cruise ship tourists and not stand out in any way at all. This may be more comfortable than visiting as a solo tourist. Perhaps ironically, the only problem with visiting as part of a big tour group is the fact you would be part of a big tour group and not have enough time at the sites themselves. There's always some risk of sectarian violence, but it seems pretty low at the moment for tourists in Egypt. I'm a bit wary of visiting Luxor due to the attacks that happened there years ago, but I'm also aware that my concern is likely irrational because millions of people have probably visited since then without incident. I'm considering doing an independent trip to Egypt in 2025 if possible. @BenjaminNicholas said it well about being smart, savvy and alert. This is important for most travel, generally speaking, but some parts of the world do require greater alertness than others. And for many travellers, being alert on vacation doesn't seem to be a priority.

Could prove very helpful when confronted by particularly thick bush

I send out cards most years. But this year Canada had a postal strike that interrupted pre-Christmas deliveries, so I didn't bother. It started November 15 and the staff were ordered back to work on December 17, so there's quite a bit of backlog to get through first.

If Mangione was a balding guy in his 50s with a pot belly, the public reaction to his crimes would likely be different. We live in a society that is increasingly shallow and fickle. An individual's character means less now than ever before. Superficial attractiveness wins the day because our brains have been conditioned to value outward beauty above everything else. We rely on social media as an arbiter of right and wrong and we are influenced by people we will never meet or get to know in a genuine way. Society now forms its opinions from sound bites and 30-second online clips that get posted by strangers half a world away. It's ridiculous and a very sad comment on the direction we are going.

Probably a parent in their 30s who was more excited than their daughter was when the daughter was invited to an after-party. Lots of irresponsible parents out there who are willing to take ridiculous risks in order to gain some connection with a 'star' - even if it's through their offspring. -
Sorry, who is Mauricio? Apologies if the answer should be obvious, but it doesn't ring a bell. Hopefully the doctors can excise the cancer.

If he was looking for a way to become famous, he succeeded. But what a waste for all involved.

Now that I have a dewlap, I guess I get to choose between a doctor and a vet.

Wow, that's impressive - my experience and that of many family members and friends is that the services are very hit and miss. Overworked staff making simple and potentially dangerous mistakes despite their best efforts, incredibly long wait times at hospitals and urgent care centres, a lack of family doctors in many areas, few cutting-edge advances and much dated technology compared to Western Europe and East Asia... I would gladly pay moderate user fees scaled to income-levels if that were an option, especially if it would help improve efficiency and effectiveness, and keep healthcare free and accessible for those who are the most vulnerable.

Or if you're hungry...

We may have 'universal' health care here in Canada, but it's unfortunately universally deficient.

Best escort hole? Aren't there just a few to choose from? And wouldn't some, like the nostrils, be kind of difficult?

AIDS DAY is today, and I can't find any mention of it
CuriousByNature replied to + Lucky's topic in The Lounge
I think it's important to remember that while HIV/AIDS may no longer be a 'death sentence' for the majority of people in the developed world, it remains a significant killer in parts of the world where access to testing and medication is less accessible. They effect beyond our borders remains serious for this truly global issue.
