I recognize him, but I don't remember what name he used. Definitely a "midcentury modern" chair. I recognize him, but I don't remember what name he used. Definitely a "midcentury modern" chair.
  2. I am not watching tennis at the Olympics (normally I will watch any tennis anywhere) because I don't have the "Olympic Channel," whatever that is, because that is what is broadcasting the tennis matches. And since most of the top women have already been knocked out early, I doubt that many WTA fans are watching either. If Djokovic gets to the final, I hope NBC will at least broadcast that live. I read yesterday that the Japanese officials made the pitch that weather in Tokyo is mild and pleasant in July (a lie, and they knew it), and the IOC believed them (or pretended to) when they awarded the games. I think the 2020/2021 Summer Games are turning into such a disaster that the IOC is going to have trouble getting commitments for future games that haven't already been scheduled, unless the 2024 games turn out to be a major success.
  3. Only the face, I'm sure.
  4. That is one tall glass of water--er, champagne.
  5. Instead of a scholarship, could you endow a housing program for gay students with that situation?

    Checking for crab lice?
  7. I have sort of aged out of the "gay community," but I am maintaining my membership card, because I worked hard to earn it, and I still drop into the social center at times. It's sort of like my membership in my college alumni association: I make regular donations and read the publications, but I rarely attend events anymore.
  8. I have to mute the Joe Namath/Jimmy Walker ads for enhanced Medicare in which you get "all the benefits you are entitled to!" They always end with "Call now! It's FREEE!!" What they mean is that the call is free, not the insurance which they will try to sell you.

Beautiful '48 Studebaker (my spouse learned to drive n one of those).
  15. I haven't cruised in London for years, but even when I lived there in the '70s, I don't remember much of a street scene, except outside the pubs at closing time (11pm); many a night I picked up someone on the street outside the Coleherne.

  17. I blush to admit it, but I don't even know what my browser cache is or how to clear it.
  18. I was too shy. My partner on the back was bolder.
  19. We were in our doctor's office yesterday, and while we were alone in the consulting room, I snuck a look at my spouse's page, which was up on the doctor's computer. I saw that in the identifying info at the beginning, there was a note: "pronoun: he, him, himself." Of course, we do live in Palm Springs, and the doctor is gay.
  20. What if no future students suffer as a result of discrimination due to orientation or sexual identity🥰🤭? What if no one who fits that description applies for the scholarship one year, or for several years? The pool of applicants might be pretty limited, and the school would be sitting on scholarships money it could not give out. As long as they don't give it to an avowed homophobe instead, it would make sense for them to award it to a needy student who might be an appropriate alternative, such as someone wanting to study sexual identity or discrimination without qualifying on the basis of being gay himself/herself/themself.
  21. A thumbs up to everything!
  22. Casey didn't like to share the spotlight.
  23. It sounds like it might not be too long before your wife starts asking questions, and you will have to face the fact that you can not be a completely autonomous decision maker. My friend latlrnr didn't see himself getting divorced either, but his wife did, when she found out what really excited him. They remained close friends till the end of his life, but she wanted to move forward with her life, too, and it didn't include passively sitting on the sidelines while her husband satisfied his own sexual desires. A few years after they separated, he admitted to me that he missed his old married life, despite the lack of sexual fulfillment, much more than he thought he would. That is one of the reasons why I suggested professional counseling might be useful now rather than later.
  24. Friends of ours lost their 15 year old dog during the pandemic lockdown, and after a few months of mourning they were ready for a new one. They tried numerous shelters for a small adult rescue, but there were few available and a lot of potential adopters. Finally, a shelter had the perfect dog, and the shelter put their name into a lottery of suitable adopters for the dog. While they were waiting, they found someone on Craig's List who was looking for someone to adopt a "toy poodle" puppy, because her elderly parents could not properly care for it. Thinking that their chance of getting the shelter dog was slim, they agreed to take the pup, but the day after it arrived, the shelter called to say they had won the lottery for the other dog, the one they really wanted. So they found themselves with two dogs at once! A neighbor was also looking for a dog, and the ideal solution for them would be to give the puppy to him and keep the shelter dog for themselves, but they quickly realized that the puppy was too lively for the elderly neighbor, so they gave him the shelter dog and they kept the pup. Happy ending? Not exactly. The neighbor soon fell and broke his leg, and they ended up walking both dogs. The shelter dog would have been perfect for their lifestyle; their puppy is a wild child who is driving them crazy.
  25. It's not just the physical hearing of the sounds that is the problem communicating with masks on. One also loses the signals that come from seeing the speaker's facial expressions, which help one to interpret their speech. (Did he really say that? Did I hear that right? What did he mean?)
