  1. I do remember that Hooboy was always having problems with the site, even storing a lot of information on a laptop once and then losing it somewhere on a trip. I have no problem with choosing a somewhat arbitrary date that those in charge now can agree upon as a starting point, since Hooboy and Bill are no longer available to consult.
  2. PS may be small in population, but it is pretty spread out. I used to live in Center City Philadelphia, where I could walk to almost any of the places I went regularly, and could hop a bus or subway to almost everything else, from work to stores to restaurants to theaters to hospitals. In PS there is NOTHING I can walk to easily from my house--it's 4 miles roundtrip to the closest commerce of any kind, and most of the places at which I do any kind of regular chores or shopping are 6-12 miles roundtrip. The nearest shopping mall is 30 miles roundtrip. Public transit is not a viable option. Almost every time I leave home to do something outside my immediate neighborhood, it is by car.
  3. Wasn't he actually a member here at one time?
  4. Charles Entenmann was a businessman, not a chef who created the recipes. I'll bet he couldn't even bake a batch of cookies. That said, I still buy Entenmann's products when I want donuts or coffee cake, because I know exactly what I am getting.
  5. I am wondering how you came up with May 17, 2001, as the date of the first post. I know from my own daily journals that I was posting here well before that date; e.g., from my journal on Dec. 14, 2000: "I wasted a lot of time online, especially at the M4M message board...." I am fairly certain that Hooboy told me about the forum sometime in late 1999.
  6. Von's (which is Safeway in other places) has their own gas station here in Palm Springs. If you are a regular Von's customer and have an account with them (I do much of my food shopping there), you get a discount on the gas price. I filled my car with premium last week, for $4.10/gal. That special probably won't last long.
  7. My spouse and his brothers-- mother's family in this country since the 18th century-- always referred to their mother as "Mum." They also referred to their father as "Daddy," which struck me as strange for middle-aged straight men.
  8. Djokovic did not lie on his immigration documents--he did not claim that he was vaccinated, but that he had previously tested positive for COVID (which was verified), because he was led to believe by Tennis Australia that would qualify him for exemption from the need to be vaccinated. It was the immigration officials who decided that a prior infection with COVID was not sufficient reason for exemption from vaccination requirements for visiting the country to play in the tournament, despite the tournament being willing to let him play without being vaccinated. He has said that he will not be vaccinated, even if it means that he will not be allowed to play in future tournaments--he has not said that the other players are wrong for getting vaccinated. He has accepted the penalty that he will have to pay for doing what he thinks is right for him, which is what I admire, even though I think he is objectively wrong about vaccination.
  9. If he were really a Boer, I would expect his other language to be Afrikaans.
  10. His written English isn't great, and yet he claims to also speak 14 (!) other languages, including Magyar and Greek🙄

    Hung Matthew

Photo #2 is obviously photoshopped, since there is no sign of anything that size in the skimpy things he is wearing in the other clothed photos.
  12. Poor baby! He needs two hands to jerk himself off.

Elvis was my first pop star crush.
  14. The only language he claims is English. Really?
  15. Do you think he charges sales tax on that?
  16. Team Ab- ercrombie &Fitch
  17. The "map me" function shows him at a location that is currently a construction site.🤔
  18. One of those trying to clear away the snow may have been my great-grandfather. He was one of the 69th Regiment National Guard members activated to try to clear the streets during the blizzard. He contracted pneumonia and died as a result.
  19. Nowadays my spouse asks me almost every day how long I think he will live--he thinks a lot about death. He used to fear he wouldn't live long enough; now he worries that he may live too long. He retired early, because his father died at 58, and he expected that it might mean that he would do the same. Now he is 86, and his goal is to live just a little longer than his mother, who was just shy of 90 when she died. When I ask him why that matters, he doesn't really have any answer. There isn't anything particular that he wants to keep living for, but there is still a spark of competition left in the desire to hang on. It is true that our expenses for things that give us pleasure have declined as we get old--we spend almost nothing on any kind of entertainment any longer, including travel--but as I started putting together figures for our 2021 taxes this week, I was surprised on how much we now spend on potentially deductible medical expenses, especially doctors, dentists, medications and health insurance, even with the help of MediCare. It will be even greater once we start depending on professional caregivers. There will probably be enough money left in the retirement accounts for some bucket list items, but will we have the energy for them?
  20. I don't know if you had any centurions in your family (love those uniforms!), but it sounds like you had some centenarians.

That was my first car, but I don't think that was me.
  22. There was obviously some kind of glitch on Feb. 5, 2021, because that's when the duplicates seemed to appear. I just removed my second one also.
  23. I was referring to the experience 😜
  24. Although the name has changed, I'm pretty sure he is the same guy I hired 18 years ago, for whom I haven't seen an ad for a very long time. PM me if you want to know what he was like in 2003.
  25. Can we go back to the original topic and ask what it means to be "gay"? It seems to me that there are three aspects to the label: (1) psychological--being sexually attracted almost exclusively to members of the same sex; (2) behavioral--engaging in sexual activity almost exclusively with members of the same sex; and (3) social--identifying with other men who match (1) and (2). (IMHO, there is also a fourth aspect, which is actually enjoying being in the three categories.) Under those circumstances, I don't see how it would be possible to answer "yes" to the question in the title of this thread, which is really a joke about statistical analysis.
