I would say that a person's level of fitness is more important than appearance.  You're worth the effort of remaining healthy and well for as long as possible. If you give up and let yourself go, it can be a slippery slope towards a much lower quality of life down the road.  I don't think starving yourself is wise in any case, but some type of reasonable physical activity each day is probably good for most people.  I don't know your age, but there is nothing wrong with your body by the looks of it.  Perhaps there is a difference between the fantasy that is created by spending time with a provider you see as being 'ideal', and the reality that most people in the world will never measure up?

Never use getting older as an excuse. If anything, it should be a further motivator to stay around longer. Turning 54 today, I'm happy I planned a "fit before 55" workout, and it gets gradually more difficult as the days progress, but I'm batting 1,000 with accomplishing what I set out to do today, binge watch daddydurden content (just kidding, but I did that, too).
