  1. I am not trying to say that an individual is racist because they don't date people of color. But I think societal racism is basically a form of social conditioning that absolutely does lead to individual preferences on race. Until Virginia V. Loving only about 50 years ago, it was actually against the law in many places for a man and a woman of different races to marry. And even to this day interracial marriage remains fairly low with only about 15 percent of marriages. And the white population is actually the least likely to intermarry with only about 2 percent of white people marrying someone outside their race. Sexuality is definitely a complicated thing, but I do think our society's views on race absolutely plays a part in our attraction to or at least our willingness to couple with those of other races and ethnicities.
  2. This is just inference...I really don't have a definitive answer.
  3. You're talking about Rent.Men I think? I'm not 100 percent sure but I think it relates to what city they are now or what city they will be soon. For example, https://rent.men/Ryan_Parker is going to be in Omaha and Denver within the next 24 hours so those two cities are lit up, but Kansas City is too far away? For https://rent.men/Ericturner only Portland is green because that is the city he is in right now and not yet any of the other cities. I also think it's sometimes the cities they are currently in. So Mike Gaite (https://rent.men/MikeGaite) is about to travel but is currently in San Jose so only San Francisco is lit up green because he can actually travel there currently. https://rent.men/TopSFstud is in San Francisco and so nothing is green because he is not going to be traveling in any city in the next 24 hours or so.
  4. I'm dealing with it a little bit from the client side. I have a semi-regular that likes to chat me up on occasion but when I finally try to set something up to meet he gets sick or has a family obligation or today didn't want to drive because it's snowing. He's a bit of a younger guy (mid to late 20s) and I think lives with his family still so I guess it's understandable. I do hope to meet with him again, but not sure how I can set something up when he is actually available.
  5. I'm kinda curious because I've never experienced it from the provider side. How well are you able to communicate with the people who run Rent.Men? They feel pretty opaque to me. I mean there is a contact form, but it's just a blank box that I assume goes nowhere. But maybe it actually does? Or maybe it does for people who pay money? Honestly just wondering.
  6. I agree with you. I think the Grindr lawsuit is bullshit and dangerous. It's the same kind of thinking that gives us FOESTA/SESTA that says the platform of information should be responsible for the individuals who publish on the platform. I do think many areas of the internet are a bit nasty towards certain types of people, but ultimately a law that tries to prevent that is censorship.

  8. He did for maybe a month. even had an ad on Rent.men. Maybe he found that it was getting in the way of his porn work or he just didn't really like escorting. He doesn't appear to be doing it anymore.
  9. I don't really agree...I think data of all sorts is the best way to support any decision you make. And the study in this case is fairly straightforward..white gay men who got messages from both other white men and men of color were most likely to respond to other white men. The fact that there are less people of color on these sites is irrelevant. For what it's worth, there is a lot more data to the study. There was another question where users were asked: Would you strongly prefer to date someone of your own skin color/racial background and gay white men actually had the highest percentage responding yes with 43 percent. This data just looked at LGB data, but I think that is interesting. https://www.gwern.net/docs/psychology/okcupid/samesexdataforracevsreplyrates.html I'd say there is definitely a significant racial preferences in gay white men then in other groups.
  10. Thanks man..I appreciate you saying the nice things about me to him. I reviewed him pretty soon after he started so I'm glad it's helped him out. Terry is my only review in Vegas but I've reviewed several other guys mostly regulars in Denver or ones who have visited. You can see them here: https://www.google.com/search?q=kerosenefire/https://www.daddysreviews.com&hl=en&ei=S1LFXInnOM_KswWmv6WYAw&start=0&sa=N&ved=0ahUKEwjJuPyXnvLhAhVP5awKHaZfCTM4ChDx0wMIMw&biw=1280&bih=621
  11. That's some hot video man. While I didn't do anything like that with him, I thought it was pretty cool how he let me hang out with him during the night we were together. We had our session and then we just hanged out doing laundry, running errands, having dinner. If he likes you, he kinda brings you into his world a bit. Or at least that was my experience.
  12. Well since one recent study suggested that upwards of 70 percent of same-sex couples met online (https://www.technologyreview.com/s/609091/first-evidence-that-online-dating-is-changing-the-nature-of-society/), I would say it's more than just a "small universe." There is also the whole class-action lawsuit from gay Asian-Americans alleging racial discrimination on Grindr. https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/asian-american-man-threatens-class-action-discrimination-suit-against-grindr-n890946 And of course Grindr had to do that whole Kindr campaign do go against the backlash of the site (with 27 million users) that sees many profiles with messages like "No Asians" or "No Blacks." So while I wouldn't necessarily say that gay men are more concerned with race than straight men....I do think that racism in the gay community is a big problem.
  13. Data backs up your claim. OkCupid does some interesting stuff with their data and did find that white men were less likely to reply to messages from men of color. https://www.thetaskforce.org/wonky-wednesday-racism-in-gay-online-dating/ Not sure about the why...maybe because gay men are already a marginalized group, some white gay men feel that they are holding onto more of their privilege if they partner with other white men? Not sure to be honest.
  14. Well we just need to prove him right by not traveling to Brazil..the economy under Bolsonaro has not gotten any better. Economists are very pessimistic about the future of Brazil's economy under his "leadership." Hopefully, the public can right the ship after seeing that ugly populism does nothing but divide the country and cause more problems: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-22/brazil-economic-growth-outlook-plunges-to-lowest-level-ever
  15. Haha..Colbert is pretty smart too and probably knows more about super-nerdy things like Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons. But yeah Obama probably wins that one.
  16. I have met Barack Obama, Alex Trebek, and Stephen Colbert.
  17. Rent.men just doesn't seem to be that great of a site for either providers or clients. That's why I think free services like DaddyReveiws are so valuable. We can just start going more and more through these web sites so we can cut out the expensive for providers and the fakery of the reviews from the client side. Good luck with your boycott..hope it works out and I'm sure if enough providers join, it probably will.
  18. James is one of my favorites..Met with him a few weeks ago while he was in Denver. Just such a smart, likable, good guy in every way. His 90 minute massage combo is one of the best deals in the business. Being with him really makes you appreciate being with a pro in every sense of that word.
  19. The RM expiration is very recent. I had a great experience with him. He does have a Daddy Review with contact information so he may still take clients through that. Sean Johnson
  20. I think it would be a stretch to call either of your examples "sociopathy." I guess you did clarify it as "sociopathic traits." I only took Psychology 101 but from what I recall and what I read up on, sociopathy is a bit more persistent and extreme than what you experienced. Sure sociopaths lie but so do a lot of people and your clients lies could be to protect the feelings of a loved one or to maybe impress you, which is actually not really sociopathic. Sure some sociopaths maybe are trying to say hurtful things, but it's hard to even guess if that is the person's intention (maybe he was just nervous or bragging). This Mayo Clinic article has a bit more about Antisocial personality disorder (the closest diagnosable thing to psychopath or sociopathy, which are not actually psychological terms).
  21. You definitely see some price changes with some of these newer escorts as they get into a market. A new guy came into Denver recently and I inquired and he quoted me $300 so I politely declined knowing that I have a regular who I can see and enjoy for $220. Then after maybe a month or so I looked at his profile again and noticed that he still didn't have any reviews so curious I contacted him through the text(previously it was through Rent.men) and he quoted me $200 so I went ahead and booked it. Unfortunately something on his end came up and he had to cancel, but I thought the price change was interesting.
  22. Good Times hamburgers and custard is delicious though I seldom go because fast food is so bad for you. Every once in a while I get a craving though.
  23. This actually just happened to me. They charged organic prices on nonorganic produce and charged me for expensive chanterelle mushrooms when I got regular white mushrooms. The last one was a huge price difference..the chanterelles were $8.99 a pound while the white mushrooms I purchased were only $1.99 a pound. I went back and the refund for all the mistakes was nearly $10. It's odd that of course it was always in their favor.
  24. I would also say do your research. There are some bathhouses that are gross...just not well maintained, dirty, and often with very pushy kinda weird guys. The one in Vegas comes to mind...visited it and both the steam room and sauna were broken and just a general lack of cleanliness throughout. Many cities do have bathhouse competition but some large cities have none including Austin, Minneapolis, Boston and New Orleans. A good website is https://www.gaycities.com. They actually have a "bathhouse" section for each city that you click so you can see what people think of them.
  25. I've genuinely felt connected as something close to a friend with a couple of my regulars. With one it's gotten to the point where we have exchanged e-mails and have a long-running back and forth kinda "pen-pal" thing where we just talk about issues of mutual interest. Another one has invited me to his birthday party celebration at a local bar and to hang out to watch a drag performance (with no expectation that it was "escort/client" thing). But since both of them have become somewhat friends, when I do seek them out I always pay the agreed upon rate for the agreed upon amount of time and often include a bit of a tip just because they are awesome. I kind of think of it as if you had a friend who owned a small business like a bar or restaurant...you are really being a better friend by going there often, ordering everything at full price and tipping well. You want to see your friend succeed in his business and you do that by supporting it financially not by asking for discounts.
