I totally agree, except that in the US we never really got over the first wave so whatever we are seeing now is not even the second wave yet.

I'd have to set something straight though. Some of the gents here seemed to think that the increase in cases has been due to the increase in testing, but the growing proportion of infected patients requiring admissions to ICUs/requiring ventilators strongly suggests that it's not all due to increased testing but more likely a more widespread of infection in communities, and maybe even an increase in virulence of SARS-CoV-2 now that it has spent some time in the human population perfecting their tools to make their infections more efficient. Most of the media are not pushing any fear-mongering agenda. What I'm seeing at work tells me that the we are so far, far away from being able to return to our pre-pandemic lives.

I’m touch-deprived, isolated, and very depressed. But I’d rather be all of those things than COVID-infected. Scientists and medical professionals have consistently warned of a second wave without consistent and widespread precautions, and now we’re seeing that wave emerge. I’m continuing to abstain from massages while making small donations to my regular to help him make ends meet. I hope others exercise restraint as well for now.

I even worry when people on walks I take aren't wearing masks even though I am. I try to take a wide berth around them. It's so highly contagious - per my doctor friends - that is what is so scary.

It's easier to catch than you think, and pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic shedding is real. I too long for a really good massage, but according to what I know and the stuff I see at work, I have made a personal choice not to take a risk at this time. However, as Mr. Jones has pointed out earlier in this thread, when it comes to a disease as transmissible as this one, there really is no such thing as a personal choice. By taking a risk, you also automatically make a decision for those around you and the public to take a risk with you. I do understand though that providers also need to make a living. This whole situation sucks and I really hope a sustainable medical solution is available soon.

Of course it's too soon. We all know that, though we wish it was not the case. The virus is more prevalent now than before. There is no vaccine. The easiest way to get it is to be in an enclosed space with someone for more than 15 minutes, even if they aren't breathing hard. If someone is willing to give you an answer you'd rather hear, ok. But you already know you are risking your life, the lives of those you come in contact with, and the lives of the health care workers that will have to care for the worst cases we create by not waiting till this is actually over. We haven't eradicated STDs and they are far less transmissible.

At the end of the day, it is about what the client wants....not the masseur's choice....text or phone call with the masseur is the client's choice. (unless the masseur insists on text and then will just lose the client) Because without the client, the masseur industry would not exist. If a masseur is not in a discreet place to answer questions, then they can just text the client with a time that works when they can speak openly on the phone. If both masseur and client find texting is the best fit for them, then great! But if a client wants a quick phone call, then a masseur that wants his business should oblige him. I have found that what you can accomplish in a 3 minute phone call with questions/answers can take 10 texts back and forth over 10 minutes.

Disagree. If sensuality isn’t explicitly stated, that not being offered should not be an issue. He has the right to charge what he wants and if you find it too expensive for a strictly therapeutic massage, you have the right to not schedule. Expectation based on costs that aren’t met when not explicitly agreed upon is your issue to deal with and not a reflection on improper handling of customers.

I ask anyway so it’s not an issue for me. I agree with Balthazar that this is only natural when they list multiple types of massage, on rentmasseur for example.

When it comes to masseurfinder, I wrap this question in my initial inquiry about the availability, location, etc. by asking about the rates for different types of massage for 60 and 90 minutes. The answer typically gives you clues whether it’s strictly therapeutic, so I ask even though most ads there list the price. ;-)

PS. Sometimes I get a really curt answer that all the info is given in the ad, in which case I go silent. And laugh to myself because I got the info I wanted.

The pic of the card is all he needs to use it, not the actual card. That part is a pretty common scam. Send the pic, never see the guy. Maybe he needs whatever is under the scratchable part of the card to use it too. At that point he may have been trying to act normal to finish his theft of your money. Don't send him the pic. If it didn't go through. Also see if you can use the card quick before he has a chance. Never send itune card pics!

I could be an outlier here but I no longer write reviews on masseurfinder and rentmasseur. I simply tell any masseur who wants me to write a review that they pissed me off and I deleted my accounts, which is true. Plus I truly believe these are pointless at this point anyway.

This site, on the other hand, is a different story, and I’ll put in a good word for any masseur who deserves it. Those who shortchange you on time are automatically disqualified, sorry. Theft of time makes any “great vibe” phony in retrospect so that cancels it in my book. And I am not going to go back and remind an adult charging what is typically a very nice hourly rate that theft and disrespect of the client is not ok.

PS. Nobody handles any time left over at the end of the appointment better than my boy Jake, a true professional and a very sweet, articulate dude. He never rushes to get dressed & run, typically suggesting a nice neck massage instead. Or shower. My other favorites somehow always manage to hit the right time or even give a little extra, which is a good business practice as they get referrals, recommendations here, and nice tips. I am so over take-the-money-and-run guys no matter how hot they are. My favorites are as hot as any but they are also decent guys above all so why lower the bar?
