I admire but somehow deplore your insouciance.

Cumberbatch was good here~ His movie presence is strong because his theater presence is stronger~ His blocking and eye movement translates onto the screen very well~

I joined with a friend each Christmas Eve for a holiday dinner at a lovely home, where the same folks would gather by tradition each year. For me it was a magical evening of fellowship with some very interesting people. So many fun, amazing stories were shared. The gathering was like my own personal Brigadoon.
But the pandemic stopped the gathering last year, and of course again this year. I don't know if the host will resurrect the event in the future. I have a sense he won't for various reasons. The pandemic has eliminated all sorts of activities, but this is one of the most special, one that I'll think about again this Christmas Eve.

Wild stuff. Lincoln Riley and staff leave Oklahoma for USC. Brian Kelly will leave Notre Dame for LSU job.
I can understand Riley getting away from all that's going on at Oklahoma, how that must have stunk, being around all the SEC expansion finagling.
Kelly giving up the Notre Dame job is a big deal.
The college football world is in shock.

+ E.T.Bass got a reaction from marylander1940 in The Power of the Dog
The Power of the Dog got a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, according to the article in Variety.
Based on a novel written in the 1960's. The story takes place on a ranch in Montana back in the 1920's.
I may read the novel before the movie is released. Sounds good.
If you watch the trailer or read reviews of the novel you'll know the story evokes homoerotic tension. Cumberbatch plays an American rancher, and sounds like he's quite good in this movie.
i recommend not watching the trailer or reading any reviews, to avoid too much unnecessary information.
