I agree, Billy, which is why I don’t even look at NYC when I try to hire, regardless if they say they’ll come to LI. It’s always MUCH more expensive for them to come out so I try to look on LI only.

I figured I would start a thread for us Long Islanders (or LongIsland people <—search friendly) to gather and exchange any info. Sort of like the “Spas of NYC” thread. In all honesty, though, this is also for me to vent. WTF is with the Long Island workers? I’ve been trying to hire since Saturday and have gotten nothing. It’s despicable. When I decide to cut and paste some links later, I’ll give a full rundown. I’m just aggravated.

Not having any feedback, I figured I’d take the plunge and report back. Here was the extent of our conversation: Me: Hi. Saw your ad and was wondering if you were available today. Thanks. Him: Yes I am. Me: Cool. Do you do incalls or only outcalls? *crickets* Ghosted. So obviously a “not recommended” from me.

No D, I didn’t because it’s not like the had no location at all. What I meant was, like Grindr, some people choose not to show their location, so I figured that’s what it was. It was just very odd. Like Grindr, for example, if you don’t show your location, but you’re close by, you’ll still show up in the list, but without a distance. That’s what it was here. Idk why the first one was 330 miles, then you have to bore down to find 5 miles, but they’re not 5 miles away. Being so new, I’m sure they’ll get the kinks worked out. It could be (I don’t know) that the one from 330 miles was visiting, and his HOME city is 330 away, but that he’s nearby now. *shrug*

This site definitely needs some IT help. I sorted by “near me,” then sort by distance. The list they had started with someone, according to them, 330 miles away! Then 100, then 8, then two with no locs, then 5 Miles. I mean what the heck? And when I click on the ones that are, say, 5 miles away, it’s showing Manhattan location (some 50 miles away from me).

As @EVdude said, it is definitely “wonky” (I like that word). I just did a search where it asks for a city or “post code,” but when you put in a zip code, such as 11757, it does like google maps and pulls up possible addresses in the world that start with 11757, instead of the town. Weird.

Oh, I agree that anyone would’ve been arrested had the rangers been there regardless of looks. My post was pointing to the fact that nobody complained and called the rangers. I suspect, though, had they been two older out of shape dudes, “somebody” would’ve taken offense. If you look at threads (maybe not on this particular board) about cruising gyms, the hypocrisy is amazing. For example, “I was cruising this hottie in the steam room but these old dudes had to fuck things up and scare the guy away. Why do these old fucks have to cruise the steam anyway?” It’s like...really?! So someone who’s doing the same thing you are can’t do it because they’re not gorgeous?

When I see ads like that, I assume the provider doesn’t mind if the client partakes and/or smokes, be it cigs or weed. Fuck, that’s some scary shit, Cody. I don’t know how you handled it so well. I, too, usually try to avoid those that list PNP in their profile. That is not a scene I’m into, but if the provider says he’s ok with the client doing it, but he doesn’t, that does make a difference in my mind, since I’m thinking he just told me that, so chances are he’s not going to be high when I see him because that would be an obvious lie. Unfortunately, though, in my neck of the woods, the pickings are slim as it is.

I hate to be the “get off my lawn” guy in this thread, but I suspect had they not been “total hotties,” they would’ve wound up taken away in handcuffs. The double standard is real.

I really don’t get what the big deal is. I make in the 6 figures per week. Of course, I’m including the decimal, but still.

@Daniel84 Thanks for the legwork and your effort. All may not be lost, though. Hopefully you paid them with a credit card or some other form of contestable payment. The fact it’s a PO box location though doesn’t surprise me, but that may not be bad.

@maninsoma I was comparing those two sites only because those, too, virtually shut themselves down as opposed to running any risk. I was not comparing the content of each individual site, moreso that a lot of these sites are “running scared” and not taking a chance against the government.

See Dmitry’s post above regarding this. Seems like you may have hit upon a solution. If fake ID is so easy to get, why don’t those refused get that? So why aren’t the people “refused” doing that? Didn’t we say the same about Craigslist and BackPage? Of course they’re going overboard, they don’t want their site shut down along with possible other legal ramifications. Even if this means the site is a shell of its former self.
