That said, I would avoid Barcelona in the summer because it’s just too hot & humid* whereas winter, if you can call it that, in Barcelona is beautifully mild.

Gotta be really smoking to justify a $400 hotel room plus fees.to be there. It is better off season.

When I landed at MAD in early May it was early and that camera scan took 2 minutes.They had 20 self-service cameras you get walked up to as they became free and pushed a button to photo you and your passport.

Definitely the biggest issue in Barcelona right now. This is probably why client traffic is not great at Thermas.

The hotel prices have been going crazy this year! All the hotels I usually stay at are around 250 euro a night right now. I don't know what the reason is. Few years ago in May you could still find reasonable prices.

I’ll pitch in an update:
Client traffic strikes me as lower than when I was there before (2025). Wed and Sat are the busiest, with Saturday being significantly busier than Wed. Some of the more popular regulars only show from Wed-Sat as a result.
I find that the window for action is becoming more late and extended. 4pm now seems early and I think the sweet spot for both Wed and Sat is now 5pm and there could be action till way past 8pm.
