Catch 22 If a guy is hot and in demand he's busy with clients all day. If a guy readily responds he doesn't have much business.
-
If you're taking a guy and want him to fall for you : Hawaii. If you're going hunting for guys: Fort Lauderdale or Montreal.
-
now they've taken the appointment process offline totally because of people running bots and selling appointments: https://viewfromthewing.com/state-department-takes-online-passport-appointment-system-offline-for-last-minute-bookings/

I can qualify personally that this does not apply to all of Hawaii, even though Japanese tourists are missing in HNL, every-other-American seems to be trying to vacation in Hawaii right now. But here in DC hotels are still rock bottom, just like NYC and SFO: USAToday article San Francisco: -70%, from $203 to $62 Boston: -67%, from $184 to $61 Washington, D.C.: -65%, from $145 to $51 New York City: -62%, from $249 to $95 Chicago: -59%, from $126 to $52 Seattle: -56%, from $122 to $54 Minneapolis: -51%, from $81 to $40 Philadelphia: -46%, from $117 to $64 New Orleans: -41%, from $115 to $68 Oahu Island, Hawaii: -38%, from $185 to $114 Denver: -38%, from $102 to $63 Nashville: -37%, from $123 to $77 Orange County, California: -33%, from $117 to $79 Detroit: -31%, from $71 to $49 Orlando, Florida: -30%, from $91 to $64 Los Angeles: -27%, from $137 to $100 Saint Louis, Missouri: -27%, from $77 to $57 Houston: -25%, from $72 to $54 Dallas: -23%, from $77 to $59 Atlanta: -23%, from $79 to $60 San Diego: -23%, from $122 to $94 Phoenix: -6%, from $83 to $78 Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia: +1%, from $76 to $77 Tampa, Florida: +10%, from $95 to $104 Miami: +31%, from $136 to $178 U.S.: -22%, from $91 to $69

I HOPE the US modifies the testing requirement for re-entry back into the US for vaccinated people. The present "easy, instant" tests are a PITA: LINK

If they live close by i bet you were tempted to offer to keep him when they needed to go out of town etc. That could have been a "selling" point but unfortunately could have also been a "return policy". As large as they are, like many breeds Rottweilers have their devoted fan base who seek them out but it's best to get them a permanent home while still young as mature dogs are much less adoptable. And with the tragedy of so many mature dogs being killed, that means many of us dog lovers should rethink our decision not to have another dog because of our own age.

At Kaiser medicare advantage the rate for Prep was $1000/mo last i checked.

They still have that departure within 3-days exception to get an appointment but unfortunately the situation is so bad now that when you choose that option they show you another screen that says this is only now for life-and-death emergencies and you must have proof of the life-or-death emergency as well as a ticket within 3 days. They wouldn't accept needing European sex as life-or-death. 😕 No office has Urgent Travel (Non-Emergency) appointments available now.

There are many additional shows available free that are PPV here in the US and all episodes of something like Mare of Eastown are available immediately. My Czech friends access Czech language shows on Netflix Europe etc while they visit here. I did have the AVG VPN i bought from NewEgg and it was super cheap and easy.

Today Biden says news on the re-opening of travel from Europe is coming "within days" (i guess next week). https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-15/biden-says-his-covid-team-is-weighing-lifting-europe-travel-ban Shares of Air France-KLM, Deutsche Lufthansa AG and IAG SA gained in Europe after Biden said his Covid-19 advisers are weighing when to lift the prohibitions, while U.S. airline stocks also rose in pre-market trading. German Chancellor Angela Merkel raised the issue in a White House meeting on Thursday.“It’s in process now,” Biden said at a news conference with Merkel following their meeting. “I’m waiting to hear from our folks, our Covid team, as to when that should be done.” He said to expect an answer “within the next several days.”

Meaning the envelope was not opened for 4 weeks as checks are immediately deposited. I had a small amount paper tax return lost at IRS this past year because after i sent a replacement that was cashed in 3 days, the original check from 14 months ago was also cashed meaning they found the return laying somewhere at USPS or IRS according to a human i spoke with. He said USPS and IRS service centers were full of piles of paper returns. (I wish i had shifted to online returns before the pandemic but it was impossible after as i had to have my lost return info to qualify). I also went through over a year getting a Real-ID DC driver's license as a renewal because Social Security had my first and middle names transposed. In the process of dealing with many Congress rep workers and SSA workers i realized they were all at home from voices in the background. I wouldn't describe any as "work" or "help". It was a fluke i got my renewal finally. Some Congresscritters are asking for the Passport Office to get additional workers to clear the backlog but unfortunately that backlog exists in almost every agency. The media is barely conscious of anything not a narrative or a meme. The fact is most government is backlogged a year. I don't see why a "stimulus" can't be used to clear the backlog, as federal jobs, even temporary, are usually easy to fill in areas service centers are located in. And maybe pay federal workers overtime to clear up the mess the shutdown cost.

More bad passport renewal news. The State Department now says passports submitted through the mail for renewal can be expected back in up to 18 weeks, or 12 weeks if an applicant pays extra for expedited processing. I bet it's not even this fast.

in the fwiw dept.: the guys are disappointed at Berlin as a market compared to Zurich and Munich. i explained to them there are 3 bars filled with guys for 50 E so that probably depresses the market. Prague should be good once all the American gay tourists start and they can charge US prices or close.

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus' Newest Song
+ tassojunior replied to TruthBTold's topic in The Lounge
If it's a way to start a conversation about whether gay men actually are more likely to be pedophile predators, yes. Otherwise the prejudice is swept under the rug and remains. I'm for anything that gets a discussion of the issue. -

But it is an unfounded prejudice that will never be gotten rid of by not confronting it. It's like a tacit acceptance that " yes, we gays do have a fondness for young boys" so we won't mention kids. But for politics it's better not to confront it. I know several gay men on long prison sentences in absurd cases because society and especially police, accept that prejudice as truth. -

i don't get the offence at gay men using the word "children" seems like that's a barrier we need to break not accept. gay does not mean pedophile. -
I think the tunnel with pods idea is a good idea for integrating with the future when hopefully all cars will be electric and self-driving and can enter the tunnels. For now lines of Teslas probably have more capacity per hour than even rail which would require gigantic infrastructure investment and is environmentally unfriendly and requires feeder transportation. The little tunnels aren't stunning or glamorous but they get the job done in a fast inexpensive way with no disruption, even though limestone in South Florida is very hard to drill through. I can easily see how a quick connection from the business/Las Olas/arts area to the beach would be a good idea if it's not visible nor disrupts Las Olas for years for construction. Too many of these transit projects kill an area for years for construction. We've been drilling tunnels all over DC the past few years with a similar drill. They're part of flood control to get tunnels for rain water. Except for the one entrance they've been pretty non-disruptive.

i ended up with a Dutch lover who worked days which meant i was a regular (almost everyday) at Day Sauna in 1974. Often saw a hunky muscle lad from Gouda and i've never looked at cheese the same way again. people keep saying "Thermas" and "Thermas 2"......was there a name change or was Day Sauna/Night Sauna just slang? he always took me to a very fancy gay bar that i remember always had a humongous vase of flowers on the center of the bar. I don't think it was D.O.K. or C.O.C. Amsterdam was a lot more fun then. Now it's just another big corporate city.

Health Emergency Information

I just found out that Kaiser includes coverage out of country. -
I like LHR but it's gigantic. And it's departure fees to the US are horrible. I avoid CDG; confused, pop-up strikes, and unfriendly. FRA is also big and expensive while MUC is ok. I wish BER had more direct flights. Zurich is a wonderful airport but Swiss is often expensive. I've found Amsterdam, Brussels and Vienna to be the best alternatives for direct flights from the US and transfers to Europe if Swiss costs much more or doesn't work trip-wise. I know AMS and ZHR have great lounges, haven't tried VIE or BRU. And ZRH is a 10-minute Uber ride to Paragonya Sauna which is a great place for a few-hour Layover.

411 on Maori Mortensen ?? This guy is hot as hell and George Duroy at Bel Ami kept his vids away for 3-5 years and has just been releasing them. I know because one with Roald Ekberg was done almost 5 years ago. I'm embarrassed to ask Roald. He doesn't seem to appear anywhere else but is too hot not to have. Mystery man.

and i find the rate has little if anything to do with performance or looks. if anything the high-price prima donas are often boring in person.
