Twice in Prague I've asked my hotel how much to arrange a taxi to the airport and both times they said around $40. Both times I summoned Uber and the ride was about $14. The airport is not that big and Uber comes to departures (upper level) at Terminal 1 or 2 (it knows where you are). Of course, if you're really frugal, the Metro from the airport is less than $1 including a short shuttle bus between the airport and the Metro. For the ease and speed I don't mind splurging $14. Taxis are expensive. Going anyplace in Prague 1 or 2, central Prague, I've never had an Uber ride over 100CZK, $5. I have turned down a couple for almost twice that in peak rush hour or saturday night surge. That's very rare. This time coming from the airport to central Prague during extreme rush hour ( ) the fare was again about $14. Unless you learn the Metro and keep in their hours, there's no better and easier way of getting around Prague. Usually an Uber shows up in 2-4 minutes. The drivers are always Czechs with nice cars and decent English. Nice people. This is in contrast to my days in Zurich where Ubers took 10 minutes or more to show, often canceled, were $20- $40 for short trips and $40 to the airport, had surge pricing a lot, and were always middle-eastern with little German and zero English. (Twice in Zurich I got charged $6 for no-shows when it was the car that didn't show, and once I was charged $30 for a trip where the driver didn't show up!----all in 2 days !). Uber did adjust. Barcelona has banned Uber and that makes it expensive there.

MF accepts ads, and has many. In other countries accepting advertisers foreign ID's. Those advertisers can even travel. MF is only harassing and kicking out latino advertisers in the US who cannot show a Real ID, a green card, or visa.

Neither Craigslist or BackPage were closed for having ads by illegal immigrants. Even though I'm sure each had hundreds of such ads, the government didn't care enough to even mention it. MF has no valud reason to be tougher on immigrants than TSA which accepts foreign passports and no SS# state ids and drivers licenses. Not only are they putting themselves in greater jeopardy by screening for documents, but they are losing many $300/mo advertisers. Mean and stupid all around.

Exactly. This is the same arguments we hear when gay esrablishments are caught being racist to blacks or sexually harassing subordinates. MF says it is not an employer, only an advertising medium, and therefore they do not have to check the state massuer licenses of their advertisers. Then they turn around and say they must check the immigration status of those advertisers?? Sorry, that is a lie. And they know it. Yes, they should check identification to make sure of age and that the ad is not a scam. But they are rejecting the same goverment documents that TSA allows people to fly domestically under....their home country passports. They are even rejecting state driver's licenses that don't require Social Security numbers which TSA accepts. When MassuerFinder goes past checking for valid identification to checking for immigration status , they have completely jumped the fascist shark.

Im actually at the end of a vacation in Prague right now but I am composing a hot email to MassuerFinder. I have used their services many times and suggested it to many friends. This unwarranted action makes me view them in a very hostile light now.

They are not employing. They are simply running an ad. There is ZERO chance of them being shut for immigration problems of advertisers. That is the furthest of their potential problems. Maybe they think that by appearing more-right-wing-than-thou they will get brownie points to use against any FOSTA action. Not how it works. If anything they are shooting themselves in the foot because if they can check immigration status of advertisers they can sure check state licensing status. This was exactly the government's position in the BackPage case; that BP helped the advertisers with suggestions on ads and reviewed much of their information, therefore they were not just a neutral advertising site. Awful move on their part.

No. This is not in response to any government directive. Its nonsense for a gay web site on which guys advertise to start doing immigration checks. If you advertise in the Washington Post to cut grass or clean gutters they don't do an immigration check on you. If MF were checking to see if someone were a licensed massuer it would be different. But they don't. If an undocumented person advertised on MF there is no way the government would do anything to MF. If it were a lapdance club or strip club it would be different. But many of those are undocumented ! A gay business should not be checking immigration status any more than is legally required. Sorry, this us an instance of one of our gay sites acting more fascist than Trump. And it's up us to let MassuerFinder know that the gay community will not tolerate this unneccessary and unwarranted intrusion into advertisers' personal lives. If MF sets this precedent RentMen will follow, gay bars will check employees, strippers will be checked, advertisers in gay papers will be checked, for immigration status. It"s an outrageous intrusion by RentMassuer that cannot be tolerated by the gay community. Too many of our brothers and sisters will lose their livlihoods. It is pitting gays against immigrants for no reason required by law.

This is scarey. It affects a lot of the providers. I dont know why MF or any place one just advertises would care. I know my Czech friends will stop coming over too unless they can do a RentMen or MF "visit" , if RM is also doing this. Awful.

A friend just told me his and a friend's accounts at MF have been closed because they cannot provide evidence of legal US residency or US drivers license. They both have foreign passports and licenses showing age. Are others being affected by this and are there work-arounds? I suggested getting an id or license from one of the states that have special ones for the undocumented. Since MF is in no way employing or receiving a percentage I don't get their logic. The guy's friend is now working grindr. Any experiences?
