  2. Meticulously curated lives on social media often tell a completely different story than what’s going on. We have to check on our loved ones
  3. I lost a friend to suicide this year, and another attempted. Gay men’s mental health is so important.
  4. Truthfully, they are in every major city in Europe, it’s actually quite insane. Even here in Paris. But the French don’t love them, so it may work in @GregM favor dependent on where he is. Just because they dominant the grid doesn’t mean that’s what’s in demand.
  5. You will make little to nothing in Lisbon. Use Hunqz and RentMen in Madrid. Hunqz for consistency. RentMen got clients willing to pay more.
  6. Whatever the reason, just read this thread title aloud and it sounds suspicious, low budget, and not very sexy. No, no, and no.
  7. This can be tedious as a lot of people try to choose the country code prior to entering the number when beginning a new chat for a new contact, but I’ve actually found if you just copy and paste the number as is into the mobile field, even if it is preset to the United States, WhatsApp will immediately recognize from which country the number is from and if the person in question has a WhatsApp account. Granted he sent you his number with a + and his prospective country code.
  8. I highly doubt the escorts in question live deep in Harlem nor in east harlem. The gays in recent years have moved uptown with a heavy concentration in the 120s-130s, at best. The blue line express from midtown is 20 minutes, if even. I lived in New York for nearly a decade, I know.
  9. ..and fishermen with not enough “bait.”
  10. I feel like this is a rather tiresome concern when your privacy, unbeknownst to you, myself and much of the internet, is already gone. You would have to meticulously scrape through terms of service agreements for every application, website, search engine etc. etc. from now until the end of time to ensure your privacy was “safe.” Even then, the language used is so dodgy, it’s hard to even identify where one is agreeing to forfeit their privacy. I understand where you are coming from, and fair point, I do not trust my privacy in the hands of someone I do not know either. But then I guess my next question to you would be, do you trust your privacy in your own hands?
  11. @MscleLovr what does any of that have to do with how you look?
  12. A tough pill to swallow but I think the choice to not allow an escort to see what you look like is primarily insecurity-driven. And I am speaking in general terms, not in the context of receiving a request for a photo. And that’s a you problem, not an us problem. Yes, some escorts are rotten and make such requests for discriminatory purposes, but most of us really do not give a shit. We do not sit around and say “look at this client,” nor have I ever heard a colleague gripe about how a client looks. I feel it is a basic common courtesy. Here in Europe, 90% of my clients send photos along with their initial inquiry or already have profiles filled out with photos on Platforms like Hunqz. I do not ask, nor would I. However, Americans like to call insecurity “discretion,” and I get it but would any of you go meet escorts with no photos? Or even a casual hookup. Doubtful. Hell, even when escorts had to physically walk the streets they at minimum knew what their clients looked like. I realize the culture here is different per engagement with escorts but if you knew that it wouldn’t be used against you in a discriminatory way, would you offer, voluntarily?
  13. I’m sorry to hear. Hm, well in an effort to be helpful and not just pull the fire alarm since you are unable to disclose, well, anything...could you possibly extend some tips to escorts in your area as to how to avoid being scammed?
  14. At the rate gay men are getting their assholes bleached, I knew this wasn’t true from the jump.
  15. It seems users were less concerned with where an escort was based, but rather where he is and where he is going to be, hence the elimination of the feature. We won’t know until Monday but per your ability to “pretend to be wherever you want without actually being there,” I feel like they are going to implement new radius restrictions so you can no longer do that. Similar to you trying to set your home location in another country to no avail, RentMen intercepts the change. I think the website will always want to use your GPS now to reflect the most accurate listings. For visibility purposes, escorts were changing their home location in lieu of an upcoming trip instead of using the travel locations feature, causing confusion.
  16. If this is indeed the case, they will learn, and very quickly, that their quoted rate is not consistent with that of their peers. I do not think a convo with an escort, specifically a new one, about pricing is appropriate because it may be interpreted as you questioning his “value.” I think it is the new escort’s responsibility to do ample research or find a mentor within the market to aid him in his new endeavor. But it is not yours. I don’t think anything triggers an escort more than verbalizing you can “get it for cheaper” elsewhere. But on the flip side, you do have new talent that is very well aware that they bring a certain je nai se quoi to the grid in contrast to their competitors, not even in a self-gratuitous way, but just because it is blatantly obvious and they will charge accordingly. You have to remember that, while yes, market trends “should” be upheld, everyone’s pricing is individual. You have the escort who prices his services per current market trends, and the accompanying client who only hires within the confines of those trends. And then you have the escort who prices his services excessively high and will not budge because he recognizes he falls into a well sought after niche and clients will pay top dollar for his time. I doubt this is the case per the tone of the OP, but still good to remember. Let the baby chickens learn on their own. I think learning to navigate the business and using trial and error is imperative when first starting out.
  17. i think the average client is more considered with credibility than he is review count or a “variety” of clients. A quick reference check to a reputable client’s profile which shows all of his reviews and “Gifted RentMen memberships” is less time consuming than referencing a bunch of one-offs which tells you, well, nothing..and may very well be a fake account created by said escort. Lovely idea with the tier system, though. Pitch it to RentMen, they’ll find a way to charge us, the client, or both for the feature.
  18. I disagree. Granted it’s an actual client and not a fake account racking up review count, it shows consistency and reliability. When you show someone a resume, they don’t care that you’ve held 50 jobs, they care that you’ve held one for an extended time. Maintaining a longstanding relationship with a client speaks way more to an escort’s skillset in contrast to a bunch of “one-off’s”
  19. They still being petty in the ParkLane thread, huh?
  20. RentMen needs to take Hunqz lead. A rather aggressive one, but at one time my account was suspended because a user (I had not met) reported my photos as fake. You must then submit photos of yourself holding a paper with text specified by their team, which they review and determine if your account should be reinstated. While inconvenient, especially if it’s just a fussy prospect who wasn’t able to meet you or is simply suspicious of your photos, I do feel a similar practice would clean up RentMen a bit.
  21. Yes, but due to OnlyFans and similar services, there is an uptick in people who subscribe to RentMen just to view content with little intent to hire. This behavior was already unnerving for a lot of escorts, but it has increasingly become the norm. A lot of escorts lack the communication skills and professionalism to deal with this behavior in stride, and here we are. No, that’s not why the platform exist but a member is also entitled to do as they please with their membership.
  22. I have a stern stance against playing with other escorts during "business hours," so I have been hired by other escorts.. but it ultimately turned into a fuck buddy situation. I cannot say any of these situations were longstanding nor worth it, as there are a lot of intricacies involved in seeing/fucking/dating another escort.
  23. Once you've sent a provider a request, he will receive an email which allows him to approve or deny the request. Some providers re-lock often so you may receive a message saying your request has been approved, yet you no longer have access. RentMen only allows you to do this once, at which point a provider must manually go to your profile and hit unlock from there. Word of advice, view quickly as some providers will make a fuss about opening and re-locking multiple times. Providers do not have access to your notes, nor your buddy list. Nor are we notified that you have added us to your buddy list and vice versa.
