Personally, I’d hit Texas. Admittedly, I’ve a got a soft spot for Texan men. But even so, Vegas is flake central, Denver guys in my experience were "meh", and I can’t even imagine hiring in Salt Lake City. Just one man’s opinion. YMMV.

The only problem with the U=U argument is that in the PARTNER studies the “undetectable" label was applied retrospectively. There were several cases of HIV transmission occurring in the PARTNER studies. It’s just that in retrospect, they discovered that HIV partner was not in fact "undetectable" when the event occurred. So, yes the studies support U=U….but you’re never going to know in real time if you’re partner is truly “U”. And claiming that an undetectable HIV+ person is the safest sexual partner is a ridiculous twisted extrapolation that the data simply doesn’t support. In other words, tell that to all the men who seroconverted in the PARTNER trials. Unfortunately, their story is getting swept under the rug, and some will pay a heavy the price as a result.

The bottom line is that intermittent or "on demand" PREP is less effective than long term daily PREP. Nonetheless, it’s infinitely better than taking nothing. If you’re an "everyday" or "spontaneous" whore….I’d advise daily PREP. If you’re a "scheduled" or "vacation only" whore…I’d still advise daily, but offer "on demand".

I once had a metal caliper confiscated (the kind you use to measure things on graph paper) because it had two pointy ends. I guess they were worried I was going to “prick” someone to death? First I had to explain what they were (doesn’t anyone take high school geometry anymore?), then the TSA agent wouldn’t let me throw them in the trash because she deemed them a “scientific instrument". It took a supervisor to resolve the issue and allow me to throw away the cheap item and board the plane. I’ve also had nail clippers confiscated. A ridiculously large metal cocking however was deemed a "piece of building equipment" by a 90 year old TSA agent named Edna, (who first waved it around over her head asking if any of her coworkers knew what "this thing is") and I was allowed to keep it. I’m still amazed my beet red face didn’t make them more suspicious.

I understand the point your trying to make, but this statement simply isn’t true. Yes, people with predisposing medical conditions are 1,000 times more likely to die. But, "1,000 times more likely"….isn’t the same as 100%.

That’s not necessarily correct. You may have just been too early in the disease process to turn the test positive. Or just a plain old false negative. Early after exposure, I would just treat. If fact, the error may not have been in treating you….but in testing you.

Not all of them. I’ve said it before, but when I’m traveling on business I often coordinate my escort sessions to end round dinner time. If I like the guy, I extend a dinner reservation "off the clock". Yes, the vast majority decline. But a few graciously accept.
